Even though there have been plenty of brawlers in boxing, i've always thought Ibeabuchi had a pretty unique style of doing so. Watching Kirkland yesterday, he reminded me very much of the crazy Nigerian: very heavy handed, constantly mad, pressuring, excellent chin, but also has a somewhat weak defence and often neglects the jab.

Both physical freaks of nature and both reside in Texas.

I see hardly any similarities. Kirkland is just flat out wild, whereas Ike had a lot of inside skills and technique to his banging style.

You can just tell that Kirkland just isn't that smart, but what he is determined to knock you the **** out.

I don't see James fixing he's problems, he is who he is. Not that it's a terrible thing, he can beat quite a few people with that style.

Thought if I was him, I'd get pretty pissed that they want to interview my ****ing trainer as much if not more than me. That **** needs to stop.

He needs to get rid of Wolfe and get a man trainer... It seems like Wolfe is getting more attention than the fighter so that can't be good.

    Ibeabuchi possessed a phenomenal chin.

    But Kirkland? :nono

He's been wobbled and dropped by average punchers.
Don't let last night confuse you - Joel Julio was in such panic mode from the outset that he threw all his powershots on the run. Mostly backpedaling. When they traded toe-to-toe Julio barely landed anything.

Then he got gassed from all that running that he had no punch left.

Kirkland has improved his head movement and he's slipping punches much better than before - but that chin is hardly Ibeabuchi-caliber.

Kirkland will get destroyed when he faces a smart hard-hitting counterpuncher.

Oh, i didn't know about that. This was the first fight i'd seen of him, hence the question. I did see Julio land some powerful overhand rights in the 3rd, though. I do agree that a good technical fighter would give Kirkland more than he can handle, but it won't be easy.

Hardly any similarities? I never said they were carbon copies, but both are wild, hard punchers. Ike had better technique and combinations, but i was never that impressed by his defence.

Then, yeah, you better see more of his fights.

Let me tell you, Kirkland's chin is delicate.

Julio never sat down on any of his punches last night.

He was throwing "don't-hurt-me" punches while backpedaling.
The dude was scared as hell.

Sergio Martinez isn't a hard puncher, but I'd be surprised if he didn't put Kirkland on his ass at least once.

The german light middleweight champion Dzinziruk could handle Kirkland, as could Paul Williams.

Ike hit much harder p4p and had a better chin. Fightfan above is correct.

Wolfe's clit is bigger than majority of ESB posters' cocks....
