Kirkland is a *****. I've seen a few videos of him sparring and it was way over the top IMO. Watching him get knocked out in a round almost made me **** myself. The guy is a bully, and I can't wait to see him sparked again

The point I make is the sparring partner already had his ass kicked. His head was being bounced around after it became clear he was out on his feet.

I just find it tasteless and of no real benefit. Don't use the "your so naive" line on me either as I've trained, sparred and had my ass kicked myself over a long enough period!

Obviously at top level the skill level is greater, the risk is higher, but I think Ann Wolfe could have said, well, you know what, this guys done, lets get another sparring partner in who can keep James sharp.

You are soooooooooooooooo naive!!!!! LOL! Joking.... :p

Listen man, I don't make the rules and infact who does? Who says you have to let up on a sparring partner if you have him hurt, would you expect Kirkland to do that in a real bout?

The fact is some boxers like to go this far.....am I going to get all sensitive about it? Not really.....this is boxing!

Like I said Kirkland isn't the first and won't be the last, I'm sure we all know that. I've seen it plenty of times with my own eyes....

But who really cares, the sparring partner obviously knows what he is getting himself into when he goes there. The whole purpose of sparring is to prepare for the real thing, so I cant understand why people are so upset.

Its just a way to get down on a fighter they dont respect much.

Every fighter is different, some feel they need to go this far, others don't in the end who are we to tell them how far they should or shouldn't go? Boxing is Brutal in every way.

There's a huge difference between preparing for a REAL boxing match and punching someone full force in the face when they are clearly out on there feet.

Ive sparred and had my ass handed to me but i would never expect this to happen. If the sparring partner is aware of this before hand then fair enough, take your beating and get paid for taking the health risks that come along with it.

It hardly prepares Kirkland for reality either as punching defenseless fighters over and over like they're a rag doll doesn't happen in Pro boxing especially at world level.

.................queue a Pacquiao fan with the Mayweather v Ortiz highlight reel!!!!

Exactly. There's controlled sparring, where both hold back on their punches and work on their skills and then theirs full contact. You tell your sparring partner in advance what you wanna do, but you always protect yourself at all times because even in controlled sparring things may get outta hand and turn into full contact especially if its a noob or someone trying to look good. Floyd has fighters go at him full speed ahead so he can work on his defense yet he holds back SOMETIMES. But I do agree once a fighter is defenseless you gotta step in. One has to wonder if James was the one getting hurt how much punishment Wolfe would let him endure.

Fair enough, I suppose without understanding the context of the sparring we can't really make a qualified comment. I like Kirkland though, and I'd like to think that, for his career's sake, he isn't just beating on guys of a lesser level every day each training camp. Ultimately, his trainer calls the shots.

Not watched this video because I'm at University but Kirkland is a sick ****. I've seen a video where he has his sparring partner on ***** street and he was still wailing away trying to knock the guy out. He could have seriously injured or even killed him.

I'm glad he has a disgraceful glass jaw.

I see what you mean too.

Lets hope there is some method to the madness, the only reason I dont complain is because I have seen it so many times.

I really cant say if I would be like that (I doubt it) but these guys are pretty strange people in and out of the ring.

Ultimately they put themselves in harms way and whatever makes them feel comfortable is what they need to do I guess.

At around 1:50 Kirkland swings to hard and misses then falls over then when his partner reach out his glove kind of like apologizing Kirkland went for the cheap shots

Guys in the Gym that go full force when a guy is completely out on his feet and go for the knock out in sparring are generally regarded as assholes with attitude problems.

    This.

Kirkland is a monster, and the most dangerous individual at 154lbs. BUT, there is no excuse for battering on hurt opponents in there.
