Kirkland was never really elite, nor really that good and always lacked defense as his speech already shows he is a hard hitting crowd pleasing LMW but nothing more...

    Angulo would have destroyed him...

  3. Would like to see that fight myself. Kirkland will probably look for another soft touch after this fight as well and probably position himself for a rematch with Ishida...and lose again.

Khan has skills and talent to avoid getting hit so his chin isnt under so much pressure. Kirkland on the other hand is as big a punching bag as most of his opponents. The bum he just fought was nailing him and stopped him in his tracks once or twice. You cant get hit as much as him and not expect to get KO'd again.

Should have been the real life andre bishop but instead of returning at heavy he returned at middle :-( the karma gods weren't happy with that one :-(

I believe his loss was a fluke. Amir Khan recovered and so will Kirkland. Kirkland been a pro for 10 years and just had an off night.

yes true but Kahn has evolved as a fighter and has the skills to make his chin less of an issue in fights, whereas what I have seen of kirkland is he comes in straight lines with his chin hanging out looking to take the other guys head off at a low level that is ok but as soon as he stepped up you seen what happened

I feel where you coming from but I think Wolfe will get the best out of Kirkland. He needs to know how to hang on if hurt. Also, he is going to the body more which I like.

He needs to do what Khan didnt/hasnt done..... which is to rematch the guy who KO'ed him in the first round!

Kirkland has a decent chin, if not, with his fighting style would have been KO'ed more times in his career by now. He just had rubbish conditioning for the Ishida fight. The punches he got hit with wasn't hard, well it didn't look hard. His legs just gave way.

Kirkland is, and always will be overrated imo. He has no wrinkles to his game, he's just a ball to the wall fighter, only as he showed against Conyers, and Ishida, that recklessness can be used against him.

I've never rated Kirkland myself, and I couldn't understand why so many others were hyping him up, maybe Kellerman had something to do with that? as he has been beating Kirkland's drum for a while.
