I'm still waiting for the Mayorga-Kirkland fight. Should be entertaining as hell.

 

Hes an ameribum who was hyped as the next big thing turns out he has one of the worst chins in boxing and was dropped and stopped by a light punching fringe contender, so much for the mini tyson LOL

Go back and watch Kirkland fight Vera and Julio, he walked through their punches, so the guy has a decent chin! But after getting out of prison and hooking up with Kenny Adams, mentally he wasn't right.

I don't think James has a weak chin, I think he has a weak mentality. Anne Wolfe tells this guy everything to do. Which explains why he got busted for the hand gun, he has a fragile mentality. But with Wolfe, she had him in a place of mind where he's ferocious and will walk through fire. I don't think much of him beyond a Jeff Lacy level, but I don't buy the china chin crap. Ishida caught him cold and distracted, let them rematch after he's been back to being comfortable with Wolfe, probably late winter.

 

With Wolfe by his side he will be a force again. 154 is not great right now sh he needs to get on the ball. work on his defense and hes got this

 

True, he sounds more like the Tyson, Bowe, Judah types...these guys NEED someone to shout down their earhole and keep them in check

 

I can't believe some of the delusional comments I'm reading. Kirkland has one of the worst Chins in prize fighting. He has no Chin. None.

He fought Julio who could hit but if he faces Angulo he will get murdered. He was exciting, nothing else. Lacked defense and yes he can make a decent W but he needs to learn defense or he will get ko'd......again. Next time by a puncher......or not.

 

Hes tooken some serious punches from Joel Juilo who has some serious power. Now im not gonna say he has great chin but I think its not the worst out there

That "fight" told us nothing the guy they dug up for him to fight should not even be fighting. Kirkland has perhaps the worst Chin in the sport right now. He is going nowhere.

And to the muppets saying he took punches from Julio no he didn't and Julio is a 147 pounder anyway he is not a 154 pound fighter. Kirkland was another Golden Boy/HBO hype job. Nothing more. He is an insult to the term Glass Jaw. His Chin isn't even Glass it is wet toilet paper.

 

He's exciting to watch because someones getting KTFO, however with better fighters I think it will be him more often than not. Put him in with Cintron in the fall, that would be interesting while it lasted.

 

Would be good if Wolfe could get the best out of him because kirkland could be in some seriously entertaining fights because of his style but there will always be questions and doubts about his chin until he gets nailed flush a few times by a hard puncher and survives
