I say that if he keeps fighting like that, he will not get more than a 3 fights win streak until he gets knocked the **** out again

From what I saw of the fight Kirkland was being just as aggressive in his previous fight and was even getting backed up against the ropes at some points. the guy had enough and caved (not a solid KO) he just gave up and sat down. If kirkland continues fighting this way against harder opposition he is getting KO'd again

That fight last night wasn't **** but a confidence builder. I did see a little head movement from Kirkland which I liked. Hopefully he will improve now that he is back with Wolfe. Fighting bums won't tell us **** though.

Was his lack of defense always as bad since his recent return?

Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but I feel like he's lost a step in his return than before he got put on hold in 09.

I mean I don't think he was ever a defensive wizard, but when he was still ko'ing guys like Julio, I feel he was way better then.

JCC Jr is a belt holder, if Kirkland has a chance against any belt holder it would be JCC Jr, one of the worst champs ever.

I agree. But confidence is a big part of being world class, so I can understand he'll need some lambs as he works his way back to title contention.

    I agree here too.

I would like to see Kirkland fight someone with a pulse again, but be impressive before that one, as it I think him vs Jr could be a fun fight.

I don't know what everyone else was watching but I saw a highly motivated and in shape Kirkland beat the **** out of some bum and ending it with a nice straight left to the body.

Kirkland's body wasn't soft looking like those other recent fights, Wolfe got his black ass in shape again.

I saw some more head movement than usual so that's always a plus for Kirkland.

Now Vera on the other hand hasn't met a left hook he didn't like. Dude was eating that punch all night but he still closed the show out with a nice body shot.

doesn't really mean anything. his opponent hadn't won a fight since 2004 i think.

The only place Kirkland is going is back to the canvas, repeatedly. His Chin is a disgrace to the sport.
