I wonder if they have a prison boxing league at the prison he is going to be serving time at. That could keep him from getting too rusty.

Hopefully he keeps his mind focused and trains, trains, trains.

Anne should give up the nappy dugout as positive reinforcement for good training habits if he gets conjugals. :good

He's a fun fighter to watch, but unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised to see him in trouble again.. Some guys just are always in the ****, whether its their fault or not..Hopefully he keeps his nose clean..

Not to bad. Did the court shave 6 from 24? Or from 30 to get to 24?

Thanks. So he'll only spend a little less than 9 months in jail.

Good for boxing, bad for society. It's not like he didn't commit a pretty bad crime that given his potential, he really has no business committing.

His original crime (armed robbery in 2003), for which his debt to society is more or less paid - is "pretty bad". His parole violation, in and of itself - is not. He was in possession of a firearm. Nobody was hurt with it and no crimes performed with it. No more presumptions can be made other than he had one in his possession, and shouldn't have as a convicted felon. Just the possession alone is not that bad.

Hell, there are people who would leverage the detriment to society of releasing a convicted ****** early against his extremely slim chances of saving the heavyweight division! :patsch A young kid like James who did his time as ordered by the judge, and then made a small victimless mistake like this - no it's not bad for society that he's not going to have the book thrown at him for it.
