The hell he would! Based on what? It doesnt really matter at this point... both of them are past thier primes. If they fought like 4 years ago, back when both were still good... I'd have taken Zab to KO Viv. Zab had too much speed, and power, and Harris is too straight up, and has a weaker chin than Zab.

Kirkland vs. Julio is must see tv. Hard to imagine that fight not being exciting or even going to the cards. I'll really be looking forward to that one. Though I'm not crazy about Ortiz vs. Harris. Harris is badly faded, and it wouldn't shock me to see him go out as quick as Maussa or Resto.

Dan Rafael also says Golden Boy wants to add a Robert Guerrero fight making the card a triple header.

Fun night of fights it seems.

Kirkland-Julio is interesting. Pre-Carlos Quintana, Joel Julio was THE hot prospect. He's been a decent B level fighter who can beat anybody if his mind is right. He's been a **** load more defensive oriented so perhaps Kirkland won't be able to unload at will like he used to. I expect Kirkland to go the distance in a somewhat disappointing encounter.

Ortiz should in all scenarios destroy Vivian Harris but enough's enough with these Harris types.

Ugh. This is too big of a step too soon for Kirkland. He's going to get his ass knocked out against Julio.

I think Kirkland loses this one. There's no way Ortiz loses though.

Awesome fights. Now we''ll see if Kiekland is just hype or not.I think Ortiz won't have trouble with Harris.

I personally think that Harris is exactly the level that Ortiz should be fighting at this point. It's the final step for him before he moves on to a beltholder level fight. After a couple of beltholder fights he then moves up to the elite level fighters in a years time. Great matchmaking. Also don't be surprised if Harris gives a good showing of himself. He might be faded but he's not completely washed up.

Kirkland/Julio is also a nice matchup for both fighters. I see Kirkland via mid round KO, but anything can happen. Also a nice matchup for Kirkland before he moves on to the belt holder level comp.

HBO's first quarter schedule is absolutely stacked. I am really impressed, and they need to be given their due and proper respect.

    1/17-Berto/Collazo
    1/24-Margarito/Mosley
    2/14-Angulo/Mayorga and Campbell/Funeka
    2/28-Marquez/Diaz and John/Juarez
    3/7-Kirkland/Julio and Ortiz/Harris
    3/14-Dawson/Tarver

Other than the last of those bouts, which is still a good event insofar as it puts Dawson on the prime level of the sport, each of the above is not only well matched, but potentially quite exciting. Add to that a lack of PPV bouts (you can't count the Top Rank card here) and HBO has really responded appropriately to the U.S. economic troubles. ESPN's Rafael was right to assert this slowdown has actually helped the sport by forcing promoters and networks to reject the garbage they sometimes put out in favor of a quality product.
