I don't mean to be a dick, but how do you figure Kirkland is "slow", he's not nimble on his feet I guess, but his hands aren't slow. This dude has violent quickness and violent power, perhaps you haven't seen him in a while, but I certainly wouldn't classify him as "slow".

My whole thing about James is he seems to get MORE props now than ever. And I think a lot has to do with him doing time in the clink. Like rappers get street cred by doing a bid I think James is getting a little over hyped as well. Now the kid deserves hype....but to be mentioned as an opponent for a guy like Manny, Floyd or even a Paul Williams is just a bit out there.

You're off base their Charlie. When I watched the fight with Julio I remember Lederman clearly say " Kirkland hit Julio with everything but stool and the referee ". Thats why fight fans watch him. So if thats your reasoning why you feel he'll lose you're off base. I think I can speak for the Forum when I say we like Kirkland cause he's a violent come forward fighter that tries to Stove the other guys Skull.:vonnecunt

Man, again I don't claim he's a better fighter, as he's not. But he's bigger, stronger, and has power like no one Manny has ever faced. It's not about James being a better fighter, it's about him simply being too big and too strong for Manny. Maybe Manny holds him off for 4-6 rounds but I just can not see him holding dude off 12 rounds, eventually he's going to swarm and beat on Pac and I just don't know that he can withstand it.

I mean you got a dude on here saying size won't be an issue for Manny unless he was fighting a natural super MW? I'll put it this way, if they faught at 160, Jermain Taylor ****s dude up, bottom line.

I like James.....I really do and I believe he's a future star if he can stay clean and out of trouble. But his fight with Julio should have been a clear indication he's still got some ways to go. I like watching him just like any other fight fan b/c he's exciting.....but real talk.....the kid is raw as hell....a very unpolished diamond in the rough. And he needs a corner that can take him to the next level where he can't get under Anne in my personal opinion.

I wasn't implying that the ONLY reason James gets attention is b/c o his mishap with the guns. I'm saying it's helped add fuel to the fire that was already burning for Kirkland.

I agree with that 110% b/c you're absolutely right. Size and strenghth at some point is the deciding factor. Do I think James at 154 is that "wall" for Manny. I'm not sure......I think it will all depend on how he looks as he is moving up and getting acclimated to yet anther new weight class.

But if Manny is still effective at Jr MW I think he's a problem all day for James based on his style, inexperience and of course the vast disparity in speed.

Taylor at 160 would be far too much for Manny even with manny's quickness. His power won't be present, he'll be slower and he won't present any threat to take out the bigger man. There's always a limit.

you got it wrong here, james will use his physical strentgh and push pac around after 3 or 4 rounds, and smother his shots. kirkland was taking full shots of julio and he didnt bat an eyelid.

against differenrt fighters you change your tactics, obviously agains fighters his own size he has to b patiernt but against pac his trainers will say bully him and use ur physical strentgh and eventually he wud keep him in the ropes

Floyd and Manny would be HUGE jumps in comp for Kirkland. And Williams to a slightly lesser extant. There's definitely a bit of overhyping Kirkland going on. He's far from a finished product.

it will never happen because Pacquiao wont go up to 154, he'll try and get Kirkland to come down to 150 and kirkland will say ''**** off you cocky, cheating *******!'' :conf

James doesn't have the tools or skills to pressure PAC with INTELLIGENT pressure and doesn't have the tools to smother PAC. And on the inside his longer arms won't be helpful if he tries to fight PAC in a phone booth.

James needs space to capitolize on teh power he has. If he smothers PAC he'll be smothering his own punches which will be FAR LESS effective than PAC on the inside. That won't be his game plan. And Julio landed far too many punches on James to think he's not vunerable to offense that PAC will employ.

James will probably have some sucess early in the 1st couple of rounds but he'll be outclassed by rd 3 and he'll end up losing his steam and confidence until ultimately the'll stop the one sided beat down. James has a great chin but he won't see the final bell if he were to face Manny this year or next.

The kid has got a hella good chin! That's for damn sure.....but I don't think he'll be stopped from one shot....Most of the time when Manny ends a fight it's from being broken down over the course of the fight. I'm not saying James can't beat Manny at some point in his career. I'm just saying RIGHT NOW?:verysad No chance for this young lion. He's barely got his mane....he can't **** with Manny at the stage he's at right now....espceically being out for this period of time. I think folks think I'm hating on Kirkland when I'm just trying to keep things in perspective. James has all the talent, tools and abilty in the world but he needs to be polished up a bit more before tkaing a BIG step up in comp with a guy like PAC. Even if he is bigger.
