Kind of like when everyone thought Juan Diaz or Ricky Hatton would be too big and destructive for Manny Pacquiao. You guys never learn. Kirkland can be a 154lb fighter, sure, but Pacquiao is the best or second best 147lb fighter in the world, even if that's not his best weightclass. He can make the jump up 1 weightclass and beat an unskilled not-elite JMW who hasn't fought in over a year. When the best fighter in the world and the best or second best WW in the world is considered to be an easy prey for a SWW, he's underrated not overrated.. James Kirkland = overrated. Manny Pacquiao = underrated
Yeah, Pacquiao is very underrated. That's why we have Pacquiao VS Hearns and Pacquiao VS Leonard and is Pacquiao is the GOAT threads popping up. Gee, if he weren't underrated, nobody would need those threads, because we'd all just assume Pacquiao beats everyone in every weight class because he's the best and nobody could ever touch him. Just because he has gone up so many weight classes there seems to be this craziness where it's nothing for him to just go up one more. Well, it isn't nothing. He's unproven...at 154...done nothing...at 154. Logic would suggest that he'd have to hit a wall sometime, Philla. Pac isn't indestructible and he was marked up by an average-punching, low activity Clottey. Remember, before Angulo stopped Julio in a competitive boxing match, Kirkland absolutely brutalized the man and was the first to stop him and did it faster at that. Angulo got his leftovers. Now, I didn't say he was a great fighter, because it's not known either way yet. But he's clearly, to anyone, a very dangerous fighter who takes punches from 154-pounders extremely well and gives them with extreme authority at a weight Pacquiao has never fought at. Being the fan you are, you must realize part of why his achievements are exceptional is because he's pushed himself so far to get to welterweight and be a champ and considered a top notch one at that weight. You're suggesting that it's nothing for him to push himself even farther past an already huge stretch and go kick the ass of such a powerful fighter in a new weight class with no problem. Yeah, Pac's underrated. Okay. Sure.
first off.. 1)Manny would have to trade in his 8 oz gloves for 10 oz gloves when he goes to 154. Ain't happening.. 2) That's why they make weight divisions. I got no problem with Manny getting his ass kicked by Kirkland. I do hate people spouting off that Manny would get his ass kicked. Thanks Captain Obvious. Whatever makes you feel better at night.
I wouldn't be surprised if Pac does beat him....The same **** I hear from people in this thread is the same **** we heard from people in the Pac-Cotto thread from 2 1/2 years ago. Second of all Kirkland is a jerk off, The guy is a convicted fellon who was on probation, and attempted to purchase a firearm at a gun shop......what a ******.
But it's not obvious to so, so many. It needs to be said, Doby. (I will be so pissed if Manny actually moves up and beats the **** out of Kirkland and somebody bumps this later and gives me one of these "" as a reply. I swear I will snap, mentally, and it will be on the news later.)
I also hate those bumped up threads. Everyone makes a stupid prediction all the time that doesn't come true. If pac were to fight Kirkland, Martinez or P dub...yikes:yikes ain't gonna happen though.
I like Boxed-Ears statement "Pac isn't indestructible and he was marked up by an average-punching, low activity Clottey". Now consider someone who triples the amount of punches and is a Ko artist like Kirkland, Manny is as good as dead!
Yes, he's underrated. You bring up Pacquao vs Hearns and Pacquiao vs Leonard threads but don't you see that 99% of posts in those threads is "Pacquiao will get killed in 1 round" so that's no different than a Miguel Cotto vs Hearns or Zab Judah vs SRL thread. He's unproven at 154 but how many times do you guys have to be wrong before you understand that weight, although important, is not the only factor in boxing. Pacquiao was unproven at 140 and nearly killed the lineal champ in 2 rounds. Unproven /= BAD. Just cause he hasn't done anything at that weight yet, doesn't mean he can't. Pac was marked up by Clottey but he also won every round. Against Clottey who is a better fighter than Kirkland. Now all of a sudden you're telling me that Pacquiao who just won 12-0 against a better fighter than Kirkland at 147 will get completely destroyed against a lesser fighter because he moves up 7 pounds. Yes, weight makes a difference, but its not the ONLY factor. You don't go from winning 12 rounds to 0 to getting destroyed by a lesser fighter because you moved up one division. I don't think Pac would make easy work of Kirkland, but its definately a fight he can win. For him to be written off just shows that people do not learn from their mistakes and that no matter what Pac accomplishes, he will always be underrated. If he had struggled against Clottey, or lost a close decision, then yea... maybe Kirkland destroys him. But he won every single round against Clottey and he completely wrecked Miguel Cotto, two better fighters than Kirkland only 1 division down. Forget weight for a second, analyze the quality of the fighters at their respective weights and how their styles match up, and then throw weight into the equation to make some adjustments. Kirkland will not walk through Pacquiao. Pacquiao will not stand in front of Kirkland waiting to get hit either.
Consider that this person will be three times more open to get hit and that Pacquiao thrives on fighting people who are open to get hit.
Hey tough guy Kirkland should fight a guy in his weight class!! Angulo and james would be a WAR! Theres only one wat to beat angulo, thats by outboxing him. So James would have to change his style or get knocked the f*** out... You dont bang with Angulo!! :nono
:rofl "Okay" is right. James taking on anyone on level of Manny or even close to the level of Manny would be career suicide. James beat who? Joel Julio?
And James has a bunch of world beaters, ELITE and ATG's on his resume.:rofl And if Manny has only beat up shot and sucked up fighters then Floyd Jr has absolutely no skills at all.
