Floyd and Manny are on COMPLETELY different levels than that of James or anyone he's ever fought. I agree that styles make fights but you got a guy who is limited, raw and unpolished against a current ATG in Manny....styles won't mean ****.

If Kirkland beas Pacquiao it will be because Pacquiao went up a devision too high.

Unless Pac can take a punch from a big punching JMW and unless he still has excellent power at 154, Kirkland would steamroll him. You need to be an extremely skilled boxer or a big puncher to beat a guy like Kirkland. I'm not sure Pacquiao could be either at 154.

 

I think angulo would beat james... "Perro" hits like a god damn freight train! Hed beat kirklands ass so bad that james would turn into a law abiding citizen. It would be like an episode of scared straight!!

 

It's unlikely PAC is gonna be a force at Jr MW given he's really not even a legit WW at the moment. He's just a rare talent with extremely helpful god given gifts. Which enables him to operate well outside the normal physical capabilities.

There are a few who are able to do what guys like Floyd and Manny have done in our era, but James is not one of them. Even though he would be the bigger, stronger guy he's not operating on the level of guys like Manny, Martinez, Williams, Mayweather ect.

Manny couldn't beat the top of the crop but James Kirkland??:yep Manny outclasses him easily.....of course James is dangerous..the kid can punch, but he's not in Manny's leauge.:verysad

 

I'm not sure how hard Angulo hits, but I believe Kirkland hits harder. Kirkland is also stronger, faster, and is a lefty as well. That's a very tough fight for Angulo. Neither one of these guys have faced great comp. Both of their best wins was probably against Joel Julio. Kirkland was of course much more dominant against Julio than was Angulo. Hopefully, Kirkland hasn't lost much while in jail and we can see these two fight within the next year or two.

 

Charlie, Librado Andre is not in Manny's class. Do you think Manny can go up to SMW and beat him? I'm assuming the answer is no. Styles, size, speed, power; all of these attributes matter in boxing. Kirkland is a bull dog. He's a prototypical, swarming pressure fighter. To beat a guy like this, you have to be strong enough to back him up, or hit hard enough to deter his pressure, or be a good enough boxer to be able to nullify his pressure. I don't give a damn what class of fighter Pacquiao is, if he doesn't have the strength or power to keep Kirkland off of him, he would get his ass torn up. Because we all know he can't nullify that pressure on his boxing ability alone. We have never seen Pac at 154, we've never seen him fight with 10 oz. gloves.

To simply assume he would win simply because he's a more talented fighter is misguided in my opinion. The most important aspect in any fight is the style of the fighters involved in the fight. It's a tough matchup for Pac stylistically, especially when Pacquiao's best attributes(speed, and power), and the attributes which he would need most to win, would be an unknown going into this fight.
