That's a good question, but Ishida's a hard target for Kirkland to get to (and knows it, and is adept at intelligently utilizing his height and reach)...and doesn't really have a suspect chin based on my few looks at him. So even if Kirkland is able to reach in and graze him with the tip end of something, it's not like just a little nibble of his power is likely to turn NI into a mound of jelly.

Kirkland would have to get right up in his face and bang him out, and that's a tall order (so to speak).

 

I think you are overrating his Chin. He had been down before his team admitted he had a very shaky Chin from the start.

There's also the matter of scouting.

Usually when fighters alter their gameplans heading into a rematch, it's based on intensive analysis of the opponent's style.

Ishida has the edge here, as well. Kirkland is all over Youtube, being an American TV fighter bred for stardom by promoters and a highlight-reel knockout specialist. There is more than large enough a sampling to spot flaws, tendencies etc.

Unless Anne has connections in the land of the rising sun, they probably don't have much access to footage of Ishida in Kirkland's camp. All they really know of him is that couple of minutes the first meeting lasted...and there's nothing much to glean from them except that size, length, and speed all favor the man from Osaka.
