It's like who the **** did Cal beat? Barely get by 109 year old Hopkins?

I like it! It's like calling a burglary an 'economic adjustment'.

Joe was very good and his record ensures that he has gone down as one of the greatest 168lb men. Toney, though,is simply higher level. He would counter Calzaghe right off the scorecards.

'Lights Out' by clear points verdict.

Too bad Toney did not fight Hopkins! At 168 - 175 it would be a a good match. The pre-fight and post fight excuses for the loser would be epic. I have an idea for a new thread.

I wouldnt say alll wrong because Toney coulld be lazy

But Joe's workrate could work against him and provide Toney with some nice countering opportunities

No better example of how Toney could do this is the Jirov destruction.

Joe was better defensively than Jirov, though

If it's prime for prime, best version for best version, I don't think Joe has the boxing acumen or ability of James Toney. I can see Toney being outworked if he is unmotivated, but a hypothetically motivated Toney would probably roll/absorb Joe's slapping shots and land a lot of right hands. He would hit Joe a lot and would not be phased by Joe's output. I think this is a bad matchup for Calzaghe because Toney was comfortable against volume punchers and an excellent counterpuncher himself.

It’s everyone he beat in general that makes me think he’d play with Calslappy.
