funny how there are many votes for calzaghe by UD and yet not many posts as to why and how he wins.......toney would eat calzaghe and his flurries up for dinner. Counter right hands all night. While i dont think he would KO JC, i think he wins it on points 9-3.

 

That's ALWAYS the case BUT, that's OK because there needs to be some fool paying off the bet winners. These Pro-Calzaghe British bums are the same dudes who made all that noise about Hatton.

As far as Prime Calzaghe Vs Toney is concerned, it's really a no contest.
Vassilli Jirov is much tougher than Calzaghe, throws better, more numerous, and harder punches versus Calzaghe's slaps.

well based on styles i think calzaghe is at a disadvantage. i feel the hopkins fight, past prime or not, proved the joe is vulnerable to sharp, counterpunchers at the elite level. toney at his best was brilliant, at his worst gave some less than stellar performances. but the toney that fought mccallum, barkley, nunn and jirov (obviously not all at 168) was a tremendous talent. if we're judging them from their best, then we have to judge them by their best and that toney would win.

dude this thread springs from an earlier thread this morning regarding toney's place in history. I'm well aware of his faults and have stated before he gets overrated at times because of what he could have done rather than what he did do

fact is, what he did do is more than hall of fame worthy. his resume is stellar, even with some **** performances. calzaghe had **** performances (hopkins, reid, etc.). let it go. we're focusing on them at their best

AT THEIR BEST how do you see this fight going? and forget roy jones, he whips both their asses, this is a fight for 2nd place
