    Wilder would win.
He's too tall and rangey. Toney would be hard to land on but he's too short and flat-footed to counter.
Toney never beat a rated heavyweight who was above 6'2 that I can remember. Wilder's at least 6'6 and very long arms.

Would be embarrassing for Wilder to lose to Toney who isn't a true heavyweight

JT is my favorite boxer of all time, BUT I don't think he takes it. He may suffer the first and only KO of his career. He would have no fire power to hurt Wilder and Heavy weight JT wasn't mobile despite having great upper body movement. Remember he was caught a couple times by the crude albeit powerful Sam Peter. Wilder is much quicker of hand and foot than Peter, and every bit as powerful especially considering his hand speed.

Keep in mind that Wilder started boxing very late(20yrs old) and was more or less learning on the job. Imagine if he had started at 10 or 11 years old and had a trainer drill the fundamentals into his impressionable brain at such a young age. We would indeed be looking at an ATG, no if's and's or buts about it.

Toney's boxing IQ and skill is so far above Wilder or of any fighter Wilder has ever fought (closest being Fury and probably Ortiz). I wonder if Wilder is going to be able to keep his composure with all the countering Toney is going to be doing and the never ending, unlimited trash talk coming at him before the fight and every round as well.

If Toney was a natural heavyweight this is a no contest, Toney KO5 beating Wilder from pillar to post. In reality, I still think the Toney from the Holyfield fight beats him, but maybe by decision. The skill level is just too vast and Toney proved he could hang with heavyweights with power and not get KOd. Toney also gets under his skin 100%.

The Toney from the Holyfield fight would most likely stop Wilder. If there is one thing for sure about Toney, it is that trying to beat him with a right hand isn't the best strategy.
I imagine that Toney would lose the first round or two, mostly with the idea of getting Wilder to throw a serious right hand. And Toney would roll it and counter.
Once he got Wilder thinking about if he should throw the right, he would work in close and hit the body.
When he made Wilder throw the right hand in desperation, without thought, he'd counter it and stop him.

I assume we are talking Toney from Holyfield I. Against Peter, Toney was 15 pounds heavier/fater. Big difference there.

As a heavyweight, Toney did get hit once in a while with a big shot. So you are right that a Wilder KO is possible. However Wilder only has the right hand, so I think Toney would likely be able to avoid that IMO. On the inside, he would do damage with his short body shots to the skinny Wilder. IMO somebody like Wlad, who has the better fundamentals, has a much better chance to stop Toney .

Yes but Toney listened to his trainers.
