Sad news indeed,My thoughts go to his family. As a fighter Oyabola was secondary...until his right hand landed... A million dollar puncher with a 50 cent chin.Is probably the best way to describe him. Had these guys attacked him with fists only the outcome would have been very different.... Sad story though, I really hope he makes it...
maybe by London's standards.....but in the grand scheme of things in the big wide world it IS rough. I lived around there for a while and there were still a lot of muggings or worse.
James was a great man, he ruled the amateur scene at superheavyweight for years and when he turned pro he was a pure banger who occasionally was let down by his chin, He was amazingly well conditionned. James was not even the bouncer at the club, he was purely a friend of the owner, he politey asked the men to stop smoking because it is (ILLIGAL) For that he lies brain dead in intensive care with a wife and two kids at home.. He is within an inch of his life after being shot at point blank in the face and in the leg.. For asking some guys not to smoke please !!!!! James was british heavyweight champion for a short time in 1994 after beating Scott Welsh ... He was a very nice man.. Unfortunately he is not expected to live through the night..
Shocking really,he was a huge huge man,and i always felt sorry for him when scotty welch TKOed him back in 95 or so,i do hope he pulls through, and they get the slime that did this to him,****ing hell what the hells going on in the uk,when someone gets shot for asking someone to not smoke, they need to be hung from the nearest lamp post the c**ts.
No, he was visiting the owner of the bar for a drink and the staff could not get these guys to put their cigs out, so he apparently went over and said "Listen it is illegal just smoke outside". When he came outside one pulled a gun and let off a few shots.
In the grand scheme of things in the world it is FAR from rough. It is not even as rough as where I live in Shepherds Bush/White City and I do not think it is rough here at all. Now in the rough parts of Britain (Salford where you lived being one) I would admit it was ****ing nasty but even then in the grand scheme when you take into account the rough parts of Africa, South America, Asia and even the USA it is **** all.
