I'm personally not a fan of BKB, I gt a offer years back as a 13 year old by a idiot ex pro who was working in my gym to do some in Croydon. I said no i'm boxer and boxing's what i do. Simply not my thing although i can bare watching it if it's competitive..

 

Bobby Gunn seems to think it can be bigger than Boxing if it takes off. Apparently they only have one weight (Heavyweight) right now but they could think of adding more.. like light heavy and middle. One belt aswell.

 

I trained with Travellers for seven months and I'll tell ye, every one of them box. Five year old's sparring. All they know is boxing. And most of them fist fight.

 

Ive thought about it aswell but Ive sparred bare knucle fighters (Travellers) and it was like punching a ****in wall man.

No, it was meant to happen in Febuary but Gunn got the fight with Toney.

when i trained with barney mcginley who had a reputation around that time as being the best BKB in ireland and england until he lost to jaws ward, well spike o sullivan used to come into roddys gym with pascal collins and one day me and another amateur were sparrin spike, i finished up and went over to chat with barney as spike and the other dude finished up there round, barney was in awe of the way spike moved and boxed, after the round he was applauding spike for being so good and he applauded the amateur for getting battered and staying upright, he was saying stuff like "jaysus that fella can bax, something serious, never seen anthin like it"

now dont get me wrong barney was a tough ******* but when you hear people say them travelleres who BKB are the hardiest ****ers around its the biggest load of shite, its usually casuals i hear that sort of **** from, also that jaws ward guy had a few pro fights IIRC won a couple and lost even more, they are levels and levels apart

That may be true southpaw but there's reasons as to why, bkb is not legal or a recognized sport so obviously the people who compete in it are just hard *******s and not well trained athletes, but even still id pick a good experienced bkb over a good experienced pro in a knuckle fight any day.

Those boys are used to hitting and being hit with bare hands and also used to hours of fighting with no breaks were as most of todays heavyweight pros cant do six rounds
