The Bonecrusher v The Bull. Two durable heavies with sound chins, but limited boxing skills. Who takes it ?

Ugly decision that could go either way, depending on who is in the mood to win the fight.

Two undermotivated guys..yes, it would depend on who got a fire lit under his ass first.

Bonecrusher Smith is very underrated as a puncher.

I liked Smith better than McCall, and he's who I'd root for, that's for sure.

This is about as even as they come. Imagine if Smith fought Mcalls comp through the 90's? He may have won another title. Mcall was basically worthless up until 1990.

This would be an interesting fight, Bone was an in your face pressure fighter and quite a heavy puncher.. McCall had a great chin, in his Prime I never saw the man hurt.. This is a tough call..

At first I was leaning towards Crusher, but if he doesn't get McCall out of there he may find himself in trouble late in the fight.

I actually think I will take McCall to win a Decision..

The better question is who manages to lose this fight instead.

McCall had better speed than Smith..... McCall sometimes lacked focus, but Smith was slower than a snail.........

I just watched my tape of "Smith-Bey" from 1986...... Smith won the fight, but he was so stiff, upright and moved like a 3,000 year old Mummy....

I'll take a pumped McCall to edge Smith on points over 10 rds....

In your face pressure fighter? Bonecrusher Smith? I think of a Frazier as that style. Smith did not have the footwork to be that type of guy.

Bone was always on the attack, except against Iron Mike.. Maybe pressure fighter was the wrong way to word it, what do you call a guy who pretty much is always looking for the KO, and always coming forward?? I mean Smith was not out boxing anyone.. All his big wins came via the KO. There are not to many impressive decision wins on his record.. When he was in with a boxer who survived his punches and could box he was more often then not going to lose..

    Limited? IDK, maybe?

McCall was more durable in my opinion.

Both had good power but Smith was the bigger man and the busier fighter. I'll give Smith the nod in the power dept.

Overall skill? I'll go with McCall but McCall's biggest problem was he wasn't busy enough in some of his fights. McCall had a good jab when he used it.

Who wins? It really depends on how focused they are. Both could be hot or cold even in their respective primes... whenever the hell that was?

Smith had impressive wins over Bruno KO10, Weaver KO1, and Witherspoon KO1 in their rematch (Witherspoon easily outboxed Smith in their first fight). He beat Weaver again in their rematch, W12. He also beat Ribalta W10, Ferguson W10, and Bey W10 among others.

McCall has never been down, he's very tough. McCall has been outworked by guys due to his moments of inactivity. He has lost decisions to Joey Christjohn (his 2nd pro fight), Mike Hunter, Buster Douglas, Orlin Norris (split-decision), Tony Tucker (split-decision), Frank Bruno (gave away the early rounds and almost had Bruno out in the late rounds), DaVarryl Williamson, Juan Carlos Gomez x2 (the first fight was later changed to a NC due to a failed drug test by Gomez), and Timur Ibragimov.

He was stopped by Lewis in their rematch but it had nothing to do with McCall being hurt. McCall stopped Lewis in the 2nd round of their first fight.

McCall has wins over Bruce Seldon KO9, Jesse Ferguson W10, Lennox Lewis KO2, Larry Holmes W12, Oleg Maskaev KO1, Henry Akinwande KO10, Darroll Wilson KO4, Yanqui Diaz KO7, Sinan Samil Sam W12, and Lance Whitacker W10.

    Pick? McCall by decision
