It was very much a rite of passage bout for Tyson in as much a young up and coming fighter gets set a tough test, comes through and is a better fighter in consequence. Along the lines of -

    Cassius Clay/Doug Jones
    Joe Frazier/Oscar Bonavena I
    George Foreman/Gregorio Peralta I

It shows Wlad was still a baby and hadn't fully developed into the consummate professional of today, each fighter matures different, only a dumbass like you can't understand that. :hi:

He was a gold medallist and had more fights and experience than Tyson when he fought and beat Tillis.

Calling me a dumbass won't get you out of the hole you dug yourself.

So what your point is?? He was too inexperienced and lacked the sense to pace himself against a fighter that could take his shots. Tinkerbell Tyson is lucky that the Tillis fight was a 10 rounder otherwise he would have been in big trouble, and it's not how you start it's how you finish and Wlad's career ****es all over Tinkerbell Tyson's. :hi:

Nah , that excuse is used for Brewster as well when he was a seasoned professional.

Make up something else while down in your hole.

Why didn't he beat Purrity in a rematch?.

Why was he only good enough to beat Brewster when he was shot beyond all belief and had to use inexcusable fouling tactics to do so?

Asser a man who runs and hides from posters that own his ass, a yellow belly just like his idol.

Both had strong hand speed, though Tillis was not as fast as Ali was, and strong right hands.

I don't think you should make too much out of one fight. Tyson faced a better Ali "clone" in Tucker and beat him more soundly than he did Tillis.

What I can say is that I think the jab was very much the key to unsettle Tyson - to get him out of his rhythm. And when that happened he lost a lot of his lethalness. Douglas did this the best, but I also think Thomas did quite a good job messing up Tyson's rhythm a bit for a couple of rds. The problem for Thomas was that he didn't have much else at that stage - no stamina, no real lateral movement and no right hand coming behind the jab.
