Oh no, another Tyson fan who wont except the truth, i cant believe that i actually have to go over this again. Foreman's best wins Frazier (twice) Ken Norton Ron Lyle George Chuvalo michael Moorer jimmy ellis Tyson has not fought righters of this caliber. Holyfield Dwight qawi (twice) Carlos Deleon Buster Douglas (the man that knocked out ''prime'' Tyson just a fight before) George Foreman (later became champion) Riddock Bowe Michael Moorer Ray Mercer Mike Tyson (twice) John ruiz (limited skills but multiple world champion) Hassim Rachman(2 time heavyweight champion) This is a hall of fame resume, unlike Tyson's. I have already went through Holmes resume, look back a few posts. Lennox Lewis Tommy Morrison Ray Mercer Oliver Mcall Andrew Golata Evander Holyfield Hassim Rachman Vitali Klitschko Frank Bruno Zeljko Mavrovic David Tua Joe Frazier Oscar Bonovena George Chuvalo Jerry Quary Jimmy Eliis Bob Foster Muhammad Ali Doug Jones Another hall of fame resume Rocky Marciano best notable wins Joe Walcott (twice) Ezzard Charles (twice) Archie Moore Rex Lane He retired 49-0-43kos and as a champion, another hall of fame career. Sonny Liston's notable wins Cleveland Williams Zora Folley Floyd Patterson (twice) Chuck Wepner Hall of fame career Joe Louis Joe Walcott (twice) Billy Conn Abe Simon Buddy Baer Max Schmelling Jim Braddock Max Baer Primo Carnera Ezzard Charles Arturo Godoy Another hall of famer career. He still holds the record for title defenses. Norton Ali Jerry Quary Jimmy young (beat prime George Foreman) Randall Cobb In conclusion, there is a diffrence between the opposition of these fighters and the opposition that was spoon fed to Tyson. These great fighters fought all comers and are all time greats. Now you go and run through the top fighters that Tyson beat so i can have a good laugh.
Those were not the real odds, he said that only to desperatley support his case. It was just laughable to me when he said that the odds were from some black and white book My uncle subcribed to almost every ring magizine, ect, from the 70s to today and none of them say that Holmes was the favorite against Cooney. Wow, the things people are willing to say to support thier arguement.
Every fighter has the odd bad day at the office.......... Mike had a good day but not an excellent one, Tillis just showed up on good form that evening..
Tillis ran and held for the entire fight. He was only trying to survive. At the time Tyson was still inexperienced and didn't know how to finish Tillis off. At his best, Tillis was a hard guy to kayo. Most of his eleven stoppage losses didn't occur until very late in his career.
How did Tyson duck Foreman of all people? WAs Foreman number 1 contender or was there vast public interest that i missed? There were FAR more deserving contenders than Foreman, and many people would be whining (then and now) if Tyson did take on Old Daddy.
Well motor mouth feel free to name the odds that your uncles magazines give. Get all the mags ya can (and he's got em all ya say LMFAO!!) from the issue right before the fight, name the mag and the month and the odds - careful because between i and a friend on here we will have every damn one I'm holding two right now :yep Time to put up or shut up, and i really can't give you an easier opportunity to show me up for all to see. Of course you are not going to take out this small challenge because you are so full of **** your eyes are brown :hi:
Of course he did. "He's definitely one of my favourites. I'm looking forward to matching my skills against his soon." - Mike Tyson on Holyfield, 1989 It's easy to claim this one ducked that one etc. but mostly it's just politics behind the scenes that gets in the way.
Some of the magizines that we went over were, The Ring, Big Book of Boxing, International Boxing, KO Annual, Superstars and superfights, Knockout, The Ring Digest, and World Boxing, (which is a ko series).
The only one that i could find with the Holmes/Cooney odds in it was the April's 1982's version of Big Book Of Boxing when they said that Cooney was a 3-1 favorite going into the Holmes fight. Feel foolish? I just laugh at you when you question my boxing knowledge and intelligence. Advice, do not pull anyone in a debate unless you know who you are dealing with, as you will surely be proven wrong, just like now. Also, name the name of the magizine that you have, the month, and the odds that are in it.:hi: I should enjoy this laugh.
