Because Affliction were clueless. They tried to run PPV without TV. They had no business model. This is a common theme for promotions out side the UFC. They think if UFC can do 1.3 million on PPV, we only need to get 200,000 of those people to make money having no idea what attracted those people to buy a UFC show in the first place.

UFC are going no where. Name another 'fad' that has lasted 5 years and is still growing? The reason it took this long to take off was the lack of the correct TV deal.
