Really Fergy ? I'm surprised. Haye barely got past Fragomeni and Mormeck, and was stopped by an old Thompson and almost KOed by Lock, I think Toney is too tough and would take Haye into deep waters and drown him.

It's not with great confidence I say that Dp, I know how fragile he could be. But I think this is more David's weight division to win a big fight rather than Toney.
But perhaps that's because in my mind, Toney got more beateble the higher he went.
It's a shaky pick tho, mate.

Haye, but by decision. Haye is the harder puncher and comes in with guns blazing, but Toney is one tough SOB (as the Jirov and first Peter fight proved). I don't know if Haye would be able to topple him.

Honestly, I’m not kidding when I say I think James has this. We know Haye can’t get him out of there much harder hitters tried and Dave ain’t catching him. The boxing gulf is as vast as the ocean and size wise this isn’t unfamiliar turf for James. I think there is a legitimate argument for a victory for “Big” James Toney. @cross_trainer It finally happened!

Probably Haye by decision. While Toney was leagues better than Haye, by this point David was the much quicker of the two and I don’t think James had the power to do much to him.

Didn't Haye fight at 200? I wonder whether he can make 190.

In any case, one thing that would give me a bit of pause is that Haye has some commonalities with RJJ. And is a lot bigger. Hard-hitting, mobile fighter who relies on reflexes, and he has a reach advantage on James as well. In some ways, he's better situated to trouble Toney than the bulky, box-shaped punchers like Rahman and Peter. Just something to consider.

He’s also got a third of the IQ and ability of RJJ though something to consider also. I honestly don’t believe Haye to be a bigger threat then someone like Jirov for Toney who had every advantage in his ball park but boxing over James.

I don’t watch Haye much at all but I could be missing something did he ever use his reach in a way that could trouble James maybe suggest a fight to reference from? I only see a big dumb albeit fast fighter. I do agree though with what you said about the box shaped sorts.

I don’t know if he could get down to 190lbs to be honest. Good question though. He was a legit big guy.

I wouldn’t even call Haye a boxer …he’s more like a slugger with good footwork…do you agree?

Perhaps I’d need to watch him again, I mostly remember him being dumb and ugly to watch. But he was very, very athletic.

He was Mayorga, but with more athleticism and finesse.

Toney by KO. I see Haye's stamina and chin being the issue
