James Toney has 70 wins, and has fought the best of the best. I know he's fat and recently was involved with roids, as an american fighter compiling 70 wins is truly impressive, early on Toney fought every other month sometimes fighting consecutive months. I don't think he has gotten his due respect for all that he's accomplished in the ring.

A good, tremendously talented fighter with an awesome record.
But he lacks the likable personality, and his recent steroid allegations has been a black eye to boxing.:bart

He is crazy at times for sure. His personality can be abrasive if he's challenged, otherwise people say he's a nice guy.

Nah-these mistakes don't erase his greatness one bit...though they DO add to it a negative aspect which can't and shouldn't be overlooked. He was one of the most skilled nad fearsome 160-190lb guys all time. Nunn, Jirov, Mcalum2,
barkley-some of my favorites. I must confess I even liked his personality, in a an age of fake-assed earnestness a la Gatti, or BS "I'm a thug" a la Judah + Mayweather it was refreshing to listen to a throwback MAN who spoke his mind and had a good time doing it.

I'm sure Toney will be around for a long time like Duran was. I hope he fights in Michigan soon so I can come see him!

One of my favorite fights of his is with Evander Holyfield. He pounds Holy a couple times, then points to the judges and smirks as if to say "Did you see what I just did?" Or Holyfield is hanging all over him trying to control himself and Toney salutes. Hilarious. Same as when Toney sticks his tongue out at Evander.

In his prime, Toney was a work of art. I hope I get to see him live. The biggest fighter I've ever seen is Tommy Hearns about 1.5 years ago fighting probably his last fight.

Toney's recent roid tests and gluttony have pretty much made me stop rooting (and caring) for him, but for his whole career, he's still one of my favorites.

I love watching him take apart fighters. It's beautiful to watch.

I would have all types of appreciation and respect for him had it not been for the steroid use. I think that the fact that he got caught twice puts a question mark on his entire career. Who knows how many times he did it and got away with it.

I remember James Toney was saying he would knock out Mike Tyson.

They where both in the same camp, he also said. Mike Tyson could have Freddie Roach in his corner aswell.

And he's not a "geek", like Kelly Pavlik, right?
