Toney had a better defense than any fighter Foreman ever beat.

Foreman`s resume from the late 80`s onwards is overrated, he even got out-boxed by Morrison and looked awful v Stewart.

Yes but your Morrison comparison makes no sense, as Morrison fought an overly cautious fight and was on his bicycle all night long. Toney would be a stationary target standing right infront of Foreman.

Toney would have issues with Foreman's jab, and whilst Toney would give Foreman problems with his defense, Foreman is a smart fighter and would go to Toney's body hit him on the arms anywhere he could to wear him down.

If its the Foreman of 89-90 who destroyed Cooney, then Toney gets ran through. James simply has nothing to gain Foreman's respect, and Toney has never felt that type of power.

Actually Toney outpointed Peter in their first fight. And I guess for this thread we are talking best version of Toney at heavyweight (from Holyfield), so a lighter and little younger version

Not sure about that. HW Toney wasn’t nearly as good as lower weight Toney. That being said not sure over weight Toneys defense was as good as Frazier or Qawis

Foreman from around the Holyfield fight would beat him.

Foreman (Holyfield version) by SD. Foreman did well against shorter more elusive fighters.

Wed certainly be for an time classic treat!
I think JT would just be too slick and slippery for old man foreman.
Tomey about the only guy besides Mayweather that I've seen be able to use an effective shoulder roll, and I think he'd find success with it against Forearm.
I see Toney fighting off the ropes most of the night and punishing Foreman with counters. What Foreman does land, Toney takes like a thug.
At the end of 12 rounds these guys would still be going at each other!

Your point? You can't win a fight just by going into a shell fighting to survive. Toney isn't winning this, be would get bullied and battered all night unable to mount a successful offense.

Toney only won on 1 scorecard. You could argue Toney won based on cleaner punches and ring generalship, but my point remains. Toney went life and death with Peter whose the closest opponent to Foreman. It would be ugly.

It was better than Qawi`s at heavyweight, he would have defeated Qawi quite easily at heavyweight and Foreman didn`t fight Frazier after 1987.

the scorecards were off. Toney outboxed him in the first one. Anyway, you do realize that he was 16 pounds heavier and 3 years older than against Holyfield?
