list of great fighters right there (minus Tiberi) so there is no shame in getting "tagged" alot V these guys. Toney had great great D . . . just not on the level of Pernell, Money, Benitez and the like. I would say he is only slightly behind these guys though. Toney's greatest asset was his ability to stay relaxed in the ring. this gave him a great D and a great chin!

    Great chin

Peter put him down with a jab but that was more that age, weight and balance were catching up with him

GReat defence as well he was a bugger to hit cleanly especially when he first went to heavy

I don't really consider Johnson that great, or Griffen really. I consider the greatest Defensive guys to be the class of Whitaker, Locche, Floyd, Hopkins, Pep, (Ben) Leonard, Benitez, etc.

One of the byproducts of sparring more than you sleep lol. When you've seen it all, why panic?

I dont remember him actually touching the canvas but i am not disputing the KD. That was an official KD.
    that was a sweet one.

Even prime Toney got caught a lot. Just not clean. Always had his chin tucked. His chin was amazing though. Could eat some bombs and come right back.

    Solid defense, but sensational chin.

    Both.

When he was younger you saw the great defence, now his reflexes are gone you've seen the great chin.

A punch landed but basically what happened was Jones jumped into him and half body-checked, half pushed him. He staggered backwards and ended up on his arse. Not a real kd. Peter's was and Johson's was. Toney's been down twice as far as I'm concerned.
