Do you think there is anybody better on the inside than prime James Toney?

He dispatched fighters like Iran Barkley, Vassily Jirov and Prince Charles Williams on the inside.

Toney had an uncanny ability to duck, slip and roll with punches .Also, he was a master technically on the inside and threw nice short punches. On top of that, he had a granite chin.

Other great inside fighters that come to my mind:

    - Riddick Bowe
    - Julio Cesar Chavez SR
    - Roberto Duran
    - Marvin Hagler

I personally Think the Lt Heavy Dwight "Camden Buzzsaw" Braxton was just as good with his ability to Outjab Bigger Opponents Through Timing.. Then when inside His Dip-Slip-An-Rip ability saw him Fillett a lot of Good Guy's his Chewing up of Jerry "The Bull" Martin was very impressive... Plus unlike James..he would Maintain it..

However, i would maintain that you can not have an Absolute "Best Of" in Boxing Attribute categories.. Different Weights, Speed of Operation, Opponents... Ruben Olivares... Henry Armstrong... Duran Micky Walker.. Qawi..Marciano... Et Al... I would not like to even attempt a Run List.

Yes he is among the best. However, I feel that Toney was better defensively and more technical on the inside that Roberto.Duran was of course more ferucous.

I totally disagree my friend. There's a few brilliant vids breaking down Durans inside techniques and how he manipulates space. A lot of it is subtle work, the rest slick as hell. Toney is one of the best though, no doubt.

At a certain point we are arguing aesthetics rather than performance.
