James Toney was undefeated at CW and his biggest win was over the talented Vassiliy Jirov. I think Toney gives Adamek a straight up boxing lesson, Toney's chin was just as good as Adamek's.
When Toney shows up motivated and on his A-game...he can give almost anyone a boxing lesson. Adamek included.
Toney, wide UD. Adamek's style is a bit basic and Toney's more versatile and fluid style would give Tomasz fits.
Toney-Jirov. What a fight. Possibly in the top five of the decade. Probably top ten. Certainly top twenty. I'd go with Toney. He could punch and, at his best, his movement when defending was pure artistry and was even better than Mayweather's. Yeah, I said it.
Toney was great but age catches up to everyone eventually. I would love to see him get down to CW to end his career. He could have done better against any of the heavies he faced if he was under 200 lbs. 20-30 extra lbs of fat have not made him any more credible as a HW.
Depends on where the fight is and who is promoting it, Toney was given quite a few cupcakes in the ring as well as out of the ring during his career. In all honesty this is a fight that could have gone either way in their primes, but Toney would likely have received a BS decision if the fight was being put on by Goosen.
Toney never lost before the time and Adamek would not outpoint him at 190. Toney UD. At 200 it would be much closer.
Motivated and in shape Toney clearly would win. No question. Adamek has trouble with slickness. But even when he was at 200, he'd still show up half-ass a lot of the time.
