Last night was a sad site and Toney was in the worst shape I have ever seen. He is 40 + now and he wasn't going to all of a sudden reinvent himself. I'm not really arguing otherwise. But, it is a bit hars to just label the man as some sort of joke soley based on his MMA debut at the ass end of his career.
237 is his career high weight in boxing and he looks **** so what do we think could happen when he enters a new sport which demands more from him because he is a beginner! Toney actually put on 20 pounds since his last boxing bout which he didn't look spectacular in.
I think he only fought the legend so he could command that money. If he fought some shitter then he'd get $10,000 and that wouldn't pay for his jewls.
I respect him and his hole career. But the fact that he only targeted a very bankable MMA star (Brock) and settled with Randy (w/c is less bankable than Brock, but can still sell a lot of ppv nonetheless) tells me that he was just after the paycheck on this one. Toney is a very smart guy, he knows all along that 6 months of training won't cut it if you want to beat a top tier fighter.
