In a recent interview: Toney:" I want the Klistchko sisters,Bernice Hopkins, the light-skinned Billy Ocean (haye), Tarver, it don't matter." Toney also complained that he is inactive at the moment because nobody wants to fight him. He goes on and accuses fighters like Adamek, Arreola, Haye not wiling to fight him. He hopes that he can finally fight in February.
Toney is desperate for a big fight. He's a legend and has a great resume, but that alone won't get him a big fight at this point of his career. That's the bottom line. So since he can't talk himself into a big fight now, there remain two options for him at this point: 1) He has to take the route ALL other HW contenders out there are taking, which is to fight C-level fighters to keep themselves in the picture and improve their rankings, eventually getting an eliminator or even a title-shot down the line. This has worked countless times for Rahman, Maskaev and a bunch of others, it should work for Toney too. 2) or simply retire. If he can't motivate himself enough to work his way back to the top and the big fights (like he has done before - remember we're talkin about the guy who fought on PARKING LOTS - AFTER having been a 2-division champ), he should just retire.
