You have seen almost all his fights?

Still you claim he hasn’t been in great fights. You simply dont understand anything about boxing then.
Nunn is not so great fighter? He was ring magazines P4P top-5 guy, when they fought.

As JT would say, bottom line gobosboiulnuisruoaf...bottom line, gaodifanvdhiekd....bottom line..Toney is clearly punch drunk, and he sounds like he has a nut sack in his mouth. Retire already.

Since he beat Nunn probably all of them which were televised. He is great, but my point is he has not been in many great fights. The McCallum vs. Toney first fight was good. Very grueling technical. but nothing you put on a highlight film. I think you guys are not understanding what I mean by great fight.

Great fights? Closest would be Jirov. Peter one.. But nothing outstanding like Holyfield with Bowe. Hearns with Hagler,
Nunn was good, but the fight was not great. Nunn looked like he was going to be great, but his longevity was not there.

Is this what James Toney has been reduced to? The man that out lasted Visaly Jirov in one of the best fights I have seen, has been reduced to a fat punch drunk attention *****

JT is hilarious regardless of what you think of him in the ring.

Toney had some bad fights, yes. But he had more good fights than bad ones, and some great ones too. When you have over 80 pro fights, it's only normal that some of them were boring.
How many boring fights has Hopkins had?

Saying that Michael Nunn is not really a great fighter is ignorant. Especially if you talk about the prime Nunn that Toney faced back in 1991.
Nunn was better than Tarver and arguably also Winky Wright. And keep in mind that Wright and Tito didn't face Hopkins at their best, natural weights (which is WW for Tito and LMW for Wright). Tito faced Hopkins at MW and Wright faced him at a catchweight of 170lbs.

I think it's amazing that a man who won his first title at 157lbs is able to soundly outbox a big strong HW in Sam Peter. Who was considered a top HW at the time and gave Wlad a good fight. Toney arguably did better against Sam Peter than Wlad did. Plus he was able to take Peters best shots. It was a great display of skills and toughness. Could Hopkins have done that? I doubt it.
And yes, he lost the rematch badly. But he clearly won that 1st fight, even if he got robbed.

And you can criticize his performances against Rahman, but these fights were certainly not snorefests.

Toney needs to quit talking and get back into the ring. There are numerous fighters who want to face him. James has not been active at all during the last 3 years and his constant trash talk without performing in the ring starts to become annoying. Also his MMA adventure does not sound like a good idea and it is hard to see the point in all this.
To his credit, James appears to be in good shape in his recent videos so hopefully that means he will be back in a a boxing ring soon. .

I think Haye would beat him now. Probably decision him. Certainly not tear him a new *******.

Ok, but what if Haye was to face a CW version of Toney? The one that beat Jirov? Haye would still be the younger, fresher man then, but he'd also get his ass handed to him by Toney. O yes. :yep

Well, one thing is for sure, this interview is more entertaining than Hopkins-Jones II was.

Toney speaks his mind, as always, and he doesn't hold back. Yeah, he might step over the line with his cursing, but then again we're not in church here. And there's a lot of truth behind his rants. I think everybody who paid to see that fight felt the same as him (maybe some hardcore Hopkins fans didn't). I'm also certain a lot of boxing reporters saw that this fight was a farce, but they don't voice their opinion as openly as Toney does. The man calls a spade a spade, and he's right in calling bull**** here.

Toney speaks the truth ..Hopkins is delusional ..You should hear what he had to say after the fight ,That Jones didn't want to fight and all he wanted to was fight dirty ..This coming from Hopkins ..
