He beats a shot to **** Holyfield and acts like he beat "The Real Deal" in his prime. Must be a Wild-Card thing.

And now he thinks he can beat Tyson too. Or is he talking about him vs. Tyson now??

Peak/80's Tyson vs. HW version of Toney is like Tyson vs. Tubbs.
At their best, Tyson vs. Toney-SMW?? Toney would be a cripple.

peak Holyfield, CW-HW (early 90's), beats him too. He just may hang in there with Holyfield more so because Holyfield really doesn't have that devastating power.

James is a great fighter, great boxer___but the man is off

Toney sees himself beating every fighter in history, including Ray Robinson. It's more of a character strength than a flaw, but it's annoying as hell and not good for him now he's older.

    Same as I see it.

But my point is that he continues on (in other interviews as well) like he beat a good version of Holyfield.

James Toney an Mike are long time very good friends. Hes stated in the past how much he respects Mike. James is joking, dont take it too serious.

Respect and joking are two different things. He may respect Tyson but he also believes he could beat Tyson. And he believes he beat the real version of Holyfield. Not saying he shouldn't believe in himself but he is a bit over-the-top in thinking his win over Holyfield counts for something and that win is a signal that he also takes Tyson to school.

yson has always respected Holyfield too. "Old Friends" of sorts.
So much so that at the original press conference/stare-down to promote their upcoming/future fight___pre-Douglas___Bert Sugar said the two couldn't keep a straight face__smiled, and laughed. But that doesn't mean that either one didn't believe he couldn't beat the other.

James is a great fighter and he is really a technical but a hard boxing-puncher, defensively wise with that shoulder roll and deadly with that right hand on the countermove. James was at his best at MW against Mike McCallum and then moving up a toying with Iran Barkley. Ever since the man lost to RJJ, he came tumbling down and fighting a lot of shitty fights at LHWT and CW until he came to fight Jirov and was masterful again. The fight with Holyfield just was as much as Toney's P4P's quality as Holyfield's decay as a HWT... Toney has always been the MOUTH and a dirty one and so he keeps people irritated with such comments. Tyson's beating was the achievement of three men and three men only, James Buster Douglas, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis. I don't consider but I respect Danny Williams and Kevin McBride...

It's offensive when you are beating up your Grandfather and pounding your chest like you did something Great.

He is talking about an Old Washed up Holyfield and thinking he is something special from it. And taking that false-pride and using it to dream he could beat Tyson because of it.

Totally different than talking to a prime fighter, challenging him, and talking smack.

If he were to have admitted he beat a washed up Holyfield but in his opinion thought he could still whoop him at his best___ok; I guess that's fine__But he is taking this win like it is actually the same thing. I'm sorry, but the guy is delusional. Great; but delusional.

Holy was past his best, so was james, an he was fighting as a heavyweight when he started as a middle. It was a legit good win. why shouldnt he celebrate? James also talks **** on mexican fighters yet he chills around mexicans an gives praise to them time to time. hes definately strange but he comes from that old school train of though. Tough love
