James Toney is actually training properly now - Randy is Toast

Looking forward to this. If TOney has learned a good sprawl, he's got this. Toney should have picked someone like Lidell, I would have favoured him heavily.

 

Recent videos show James Toney without his double chin... at least in the face he's looking pretty slim, maybe he's actually motivated to train for this fight.

Too bad it won't matter much when Couture refuses to stand and box with him. If Randy does ANYTHING other than takedown from the opening bell he's made a huge mistake.

All he needs to do is become a world class Greco Roman wrestler in the next few weeks and Randy is really in trouble. Liddell would choke Toney out in the first round. Smaller guys like Silva could get the best of him standing and "trading" with their superior kickboxing(reflexes). This is apples and oranges. If Toney pulls this off I pick him to make an NBA teams roster next year and become the Governor of Michigan within the next 3 years.

Sprawl won't even matter, Randy uses his greco roman wrestling background more than just shooting on people. If JT doesn't knock him out in the first two mins this fight is over.

 

Randy will fake throwing a punch, clinch, then comes the take down. Over and over and over.

 

this will be interesting to see how Toney reacts to the different rules of the sport...where being inside with someone doesn't mean "only holding on the side the ref. can't see". This isn't Boxing anymore, Couture doesn't need to stand and trade to get Toney down, but Couture has also been knocked out before, maybe if Toney can catch him on the way in and with Boxing reflexes he just might.

 

You won't see any training footage ever. Would you leak out your training footage (No disrespect due to not knowing if you boxed or trained in MMA) for an opponent to see? You would be giving out leverage for your opponent.

By the way, your avatar is Day of the Dead? If it is, the remake was ****. They should have continued with Ving's twin brother on how their demise was at the military base. Remember, the new Dawn of the Dead, Ving mentioned leaving to be with his brother and the older lady said there were no survivors.

Come on now and Toney won't be ready for that? Toney has had the best faint on him and Randy will be different? Don't get me wrong, I duly respect Randy's career and fighting style. It could be all BS about Toney's ground game and Randy is up there in age and battle worn. Also, don't be surprised if White fixes the damn fight to build and make money off of Toney's name.

 

Unless Toney gets a lucky KO punch he is in big trouble

Randy is a world level wrestler and a cage fighter for as long as toney has been a boxer

Toney is a novice in MMA and wrestling

its like saying Randy could win in a boxing ring

 

Couture is 47. They are both over the hill and this really won't prove crap about the whole boxing vs. MMA thing at all, either way it goes.
