I'd like educated reply no machismo nonesense plz
for me james toney was kinda like the zab judah of his time a good talent but never an ATG
on ESB a lot of ppl tend to hype this fella up? may be because his post fight interviews are rather ammusing i'm not sure but i'v spent some time watching alot of toneys fights and i do not understand the deal surrounding him for me his defining fight was probrably the TKO win he holds against Michael Nunn who was considered P4P 1 of the best back then it was a decent fight for toney he was only 22 yo, he was behind on all 3 judges score cards, the fight was pritty comppetitive i do understand that nunn was considered the best guy at 160 along with the body snatcher, however toney didnt show me anything to suggest that he would compete against the ATGs of that weight as many claim.
as for Nunn his career as a future ATG or P4Pder ended that night
Toneys next fights were against mike maccalum, maccalum held him to a draw maccalum at this point of his career may have not been in his prime but still managed to fustrate toney and compete on the same level as him i'v seen highlights of the fight and it seemd hard to score , if james toney was who every1 claims he is he'd have beateb maccalum soundly
in the rematch against maccalum toney lost that clearly imo, even toney knew he lost the fight u can easily see the fustration in his eyes b4 the scorecards were announced

when he stepped up to 168 he didnt have any notable wins against any 1 and he fought few championship fights at that weight he didnt seem concerened about possible mataches with benn or eubank,
he was beaten soundly by roy jones in a shutout even he was weight drained he should have made the early rounds competive which he failed to do,
after jones thrashed him he went into obscurity loosing to fighters like montell griffin,

Once I read that line I knew we were dealing with someone who has only a slight clue about James Toney.

Toney is a ATG -- he has a superb record. I'll tell you of someone who isn't a ATG nor a HOF'er, that man is in your Avatar. He can be more so compared to Zab, but actually that would be a offense to Zab seeing as though Zab went on to win other titles after he was embrassed. Can't say the same thing for that guy in your Avatar.

but you never offered a response.....and he was right.

if you want to pull someone down say why.

toney achieved more than judah ever did.

judah is a poster child for what a super talented fighter could have achieved if he had the discipline and maturity to do it.

The boxing world had Toney as the the best P4P fighter in his time.
I had not even heard the term until he came along.

It was as if no matter what weight class he was in his style would seem to prevail. that is a true p4p

Look at how many fights the guy has...You dont think a guy with that many fights drop a couple winnable fights? Bad DAY AT THE OFFICE?
