Off-topic- is it just me, or does Ezzard Charles have what maybe one of the best resumes ever? I've been studying his achievements recently, and I am dead impressed.
Everyone knows James Toney is a great, great fighter. I can see how someone could look at some of his results and conclude he wasn't, but people who really know boxing look at him and see an ATG. The few people whose opinion I really unequivocally respect on boxing rate him very highly, and the people who call him 'overrated' etc are all internet forumers whose opinion I generally don't (no offense to the OP). I'd go as far as to say that if, regardless of what you think of his inconsistencies, physical condition etc, you look at Toney and don't see truly great skills, then you don't 'know boxing'.
You laughed but the thread started did say Toney was robbed in the rematch so.......... You're an idiot.:good
Drake Thadzi and Griffin x2 certainly lowers his 168-175lbs H2H for me. He's a great fighter, but also a GREAT CHEATER. **** cheaters.
it easy to pick holes in any fighters resume if u watch all his fights youll realisehe has as big a claim as many atg's you would also realise hes brilliant to watch
If James Toney is overrated, then it's a certainty that Joe Calzaghe is an overhyped under accomplished fighter......
Why do Toney fans bring up his win over Barkely to make him look great? barley was destroyed by Benn years before Toney fought him. Mccallum is one Toneys best wins but even then it was very close fight and Nunn was never that good but at least Toney whipped him good. Toney was a great fighter but his fans go over the top sometimes and will claim that a prime Toney could beat any opponent in any fantasy match you suggest. At MW or SMW I think BHOP and Eubnaks would have beat him on points.
That statement makes no sense whatsoever. Toney didn't "whip him good" and Nunn was very very good.atschShows how little some of you people actually know.
