Anybody who thinks Sumbu Kalambay is in the same class as a James Toney needs his or her head examined...... Kalambay was parked in ONE round by Michael Nunn in 1989 and seemingly vanished from the scene.... I know Kalambay has a few good wins, but does that make him great?? NO!!! The hell??:fire MR.BILL:bbb
A young Roy Jones is the ONLY guy from 160 to 200 pounds that can equally share the same light as James Toney from the late 80 to late 90s era.......... "Kalambay, Barkley, Nunn, Benn, McClellan, Tate & McCallum" were just a notch or so below Roy Jones and James Toney..... MR.BILL P.S. I will NOT include names like "Leonard, Hearns, Duran or Hagler" simply because they are from a different peak era.....
I thought you were done with me? You stupid little man. Nunn-Kalambay was one of the shocks of the year. Go look up the thread on a Kalambay-Toney matchup in the Classic forum, see if anyone else shares your pov. & Toney, even in your wettest dreams isn't in the same class/level/light as Jones. & congratulations again, twat :good.
I dont understand how so many people can respect a fighter that used steroids. Even if he wasnt using in his prime, it should keep him out of the HOF for disrespecting the sport.
You are so full of **** that your eyes are brown..... Wake up and smell the coffee, Dickcheese.....:smoke MR.BILL
Well, if we ban them all, many of the modern "Hallers" would not be there.... Not everybody has been caught or nailed for steroid useage... However, in a sense, that still doesn't make them innocent.....-( I must say, James Toney is the most unimpressive steroid user that I have ever seen..... The best Toney looked on roids was in 2004 against Rydell Booker....... His title win over John Ruiz was impressive, but Toney's physique was not.....:huh :blood MR.BILL
Its shear nonsense to think that James Toney is not in the same class or league as Roy Jones is / was...... That's utter bullcrap........ Toney has better savy and skill, while Jones really only had blinding speed.... We found out a lot about Roy Jones once he aged and slowed down...... Roy Jones is still considered great and a solid lock for the H.O.F., but James Toney is right alongside of him, as well..... To hell with the 1994 Super Dud of a title fight between "Jones & Toney." James Toney was ill prepared and drained at 168 in late 1994...... EVERYBODY who's checked into that event / fight knows that.... On the other hand, Roy Jones never had a weight problem or issue when he was young...... In 1994, at 168 pounds, Roy Jones was easily the stronger of the two fighters...... Had that 1994 bout been made at 180 pounds, the outcome MIGHT have been different.?.? MR.BILL
Oh god...reading the delusions of Toney nuthuggers would be painful if it wasn't so damn comical; Yes, let's forget all that happened in reality, their actual fight in which Jones easily shut out Toney, put it down to **** weak excuses & fantasize of a parallel universe where Toney would be good enough to beat Jones. RJ WHOOPED Toney, made him look pedestrian all night, & the odds are he'd easily WHOOP Toney at any weight. There's approximately nothing to suggest otherwise. Get it thru your thick nuthugging skulls.
You really are a ball-licking ******* with no class...... I'm done with you.... Tell you what, you are NOT in my league or class....... C-Ya....:bbb MR.BILL Note: Get off the site..... We / ESB don't need you...... Or your type..... Anymore lip outta you directed at me and I'll report you personally....:hi:
I know, I'm at least 3 classes above you....as I'm somewhere in reality. You go run along to report me, see how much of a laugh they'll get out of you. Now....are you sure you're done with me this time or will you submit to your nuthugging urges again :hey?
It's only the fact that the debate / conflict went on too long..... I should've cut it short....... Still, things happen...... I normally do not fence with a jouster who loves to jab and keep poking at you, merely looking to draw you in.... Yeah, I fell for it.... I was ticked...... However, I'm much better now..... However, aside from all of that, everybody has a right to their own opinion, but to state that Sumbu Kalambay is / was better or greater than James Toney has proven to be is insane..... Sumbu Kalambay will not make the IBHOF anytime in the near future.... James Toney is a solid lock.... Even if Toney is now fighting beyond his best years..... Peace... MR.BILL:yep P.S. I don't like to get sloppy.....
NOW!! Back to BIDNESS!!! James Toney is NOT overrated overall..... The guy has proven to be a great fighter worthy of H.O.F. status..... He is overrated here in 2008 by some die hard fans of his who still think he's capable of becoming the linear heavyweight champion of the world in 2009... That's not gonna happen..... I already stated before that James Toney will likely continue to fade while defending his meaningless IBC title or whatever it is on ESPN 2, FSN or Versus network..... As much as I admire James Toney's once fine boxing skills and savy, I fully see and realize he's slipping.... Cheers..... MR.BILL
