I agree but I don't really see anyone beating Wlad at the moment...and I'd much rather see Kingpin in there than Toney or Ruiz.

People seem ok with a Toney fight but he's now a non-entity at HW. He lost his last fight to Fres in my mind and hasn't been a top tier fighter since beating holyfield. I can think of 15 guys I'd rather see fight Wlad that Toney. But at least it might go a few rounds!!!

I agree, it looks as though Wlad is the main man at heavyweight for now. But at the same time, I would not want Kingpin in there right with Wlad right now. He does not have a huge following yet and isn't all that well known, so a loss to his undefeated record at this stage of his career would really hurt him. I would like him to fight Valuev first, then defend the title a few times, and then take on a K bro.

I'd actually like to see this.

Even though I'm not optimistic for Toney's chances, I'd love to see this fight.

Plus for Wlad, it should be relatively low risk (and I'm a Toney fan) but a good name for his resume.

    Do it...

In light of the fact that this fight is now off (we'll wait and see if it's rescheduled) there may be a silver lining- we may, at last, be rid of Valuev. If Haye is unable to reschedule for the next few weeks then why shouldn't Wlad fight Valuev? Valuev is 'fighting fit' and if Wlad has to find another opponent then it makes sense. I'd love to see Wlad school him and hopefully never see Valuev's name in the boxing headlines again.

I think Toney stops Wlad. Wlad always had a bad chin.

I remember my first boxing fight was Wlad against some guy's name I can't remember and the guy knocked out Wlad in like 1 or 2 rounds. It was very embarrassing. Wlad can't take a punch.

James Toney ready?? Now that would be a complete u-turn if true. He's been ducking the Klitchko's for years whilst talking non stop garbage about them.

Who has Toney stopped at Heavyweight? What is Toneys knock out percentage at HW? You might want to check that.

James Toney is just lucky he wasnt at Cruiserweight when Haye was there.

of course he's ready... he knows full well that WK won't pick him, so he's free to say what ever the hell he wants. either way it'll be "he ducked me" or "he didn't offer enough money" :-(

Guys, get real. Remember the first knock down Wlad Byrd II? Imagine that happening over and over again. Toney is simply too slow at the point of his game to avoid getting hit repeatedly. And considering how hard Wladimir hits, it would be really bad for Toney's health to take that kind of punishment.
