One of his handlers needs to take him to the side and counsel him. Gotta tell him it's over

He also struggled with journeyman Kenny Lemos, a couple years back.

One should hope that Toney s entourage finally realizes that Toney is a spent force at this point. After watching some fightpics on his August 8th opponent fan page Toney's lack of dedication becomes apparent: physcally, his body looks like a total mess... even in comparison to the Lucas Browne kind of shape... as a longtime supporter, and yes - i have been following him since 1996, I urge him to retire. Toney s ATG at least in my book and shouldnt risk his health and reputation by continuing his career with nothing left in the toolbox.

He looked to be in better shape at the prizefighter

There seems to be a bunch of yes sayers around Toney these days.

Fighting a 6 foot 5 heavyweight while being out of shape and coming off a 2 year layoff was not exactly the brightest idea.

It is a shame. I worked a couple of undercard bouts and there were plenty of seats available in the upscale ballroom. General admission tickets were $50. Buddy McGirt and Lamon Brewster were in his corner. He still was waiting for counterpunches and often made Ellis miss but was just not active enough but never hurt in the bout. He took time to speak with me and pose for a photo. He was very nice and appreciative to everyone and unfortunately he told me he was going to fight on.

So he wasn't phased by losing? Was he making excuses?

Roy is still a solid top 30-40er at CW, he may be old and shot but he's still retained SOME of his abilities, and is in respectable shape for his age unlike Toney.

Hopkins > Tarver > Jones > Toney, in terms of how they've aged.

Same applies to what shape they're in for their age, except flip Jones & Tarver.
