I still remember when Joe Calzaghe called out the 230 lb version of James Toney...for a fight at 168 lbs. :patsch

So far 5 pages and no one has even taking Toney serious. Toney needs to give it up.

He should have been 185 or thereabouts years ago, he's carrying at LEAST 50 lbs of blubber. I can't see why Bernard would take the fight except for money or to stay busy, and I don't think he's too interested in doing that.

The last time Toney looked like Lights Out was against Jirov. And he weighed 188. He could physically make 185 and be in pretty good shape. Hell he would be in top shape at 175, but he can't mentally do it.

Physically he probably could make 185, but Toney doesn't like hard work.
It's probably why he took steroids trying to get an advantage that way instead of just training harder.

Several gift decisions have somehow kept him in the heavyweight scene and his name talked about, but he's every bit as shot as Holyfield is now.

He talks about fighting the Klitschko's and yet when he had an opportunity to fight Wlad a few years ago he ran a mile. The reason is because he knows he get knocked out exceptionally easily, and not because the Klitschko's are superstars(although both obviously good fighters) but because Toney is now an awful awful fighter. Incapable of beating any top 20 heavyweight, which I suppose you could consider is fair enough because he shouldn't be anywhere near the weight.

185 is probably the weight Toney should be in his career right now, but the guy loves his rolls of fat too much to get rid of them, so I say good luck to the obese, cheating, overated, slurred word 'trash talker':)roll:).

He used to be a good fighter, but wasn't good enough to beat the very best of his generation, however he has managed to live off that career succesfully for a very long time.......and even though he won't get this fight, he'll still get another tv date and more money in his bank to fight a never great hasbeen on a march towards an undeserved title shot.

I would love to see the fight!

EDIT: And the winner could fight Adamek if he's successful defending his title.
