Can somone please educate me on the particulars as far as the James Toney steriod accuasations are concerned? I always just hear that he used but never really got the facts? I mean i know he was suspended but for which fight was he using? Did he admitt it?
He was first caught for them after the Ruiz fight, and another time for a more recent fight. Toney's camp claims it was from Hydro-cortisone injections he was recieving for a shoulder injury, which very well can be true, and I happen to believe James Toney on this one, it's obvious that if he was taking steroids it made him worse, rather better if that was the case.
Holyfield recently admitted buying drugs from a pharmacy that his name was linked to when it was busted for supplying steroids to several athletes, he says he was buying drugs to treat his fathers heart condition!
That was his defense, ask him. I guess it was to nurse his shoulder injury, he sure didnt gain anything else from the taking the injections.
Toney admitted to taking steriods (nandrolone)... he said that the doctor gave them to him to help his injury heal faster.
What the heck... are you saying he didn´t have more muscle as a heavy than he did in the lighter weight classes? I´d certainly beg to differ... he put on loads of mass(and fat).
He lost speed in his punches, less stamina in the ring, overall downgrade from his former self, if he did take something illegally it did more harm for him than good.
