I know there are loads of James Toney fans here.
I used to be one of you, I used to cheer for Toney, but after "educating" myself on him, I've discovered that hes the biggest douchebag I have ever seen in boxing, bar none. He acts like a ****ing clueless bum, in the post-fight interview for the Holyfield fight, I saw that he does not just pretend about his style, he is truly as dumb as they come.
Also getting caught on steroids a few times, made us all think his legacy is about as real as Pamela Anderson's titties.
Sorry Nawfal, you out SUCKAH and all the other fellow James Toney huggers, your man is a disgrace. :bart

I liked him because of his style and charisma but the recent steroid detection (again) has made me lose some respect for him, sure. You can't take away what he did when he was younger though at middleweight; that's the James Toney I mostly think of.

Toney was a great fighter at MW but only so-so at Heavyweight IMO. His big mouth is quite funny at times but he talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. Being caught using steriods twice doesn't help his case either. Legendary defense & chin no matter what else you think of him.

Old school Toney is the stuff of legends. He's tarnished a bit with age.

he had some shitty fights earlier in his career, lest we forget the Tiberi, RJJ and McCallum match-ups. Those "fights" put me to sleep.

Still, the Tim Littles and Nunn fights were good. By the way, did my Michael Nunn ever get out of prison?

I share the exact same sentiment.
I liked him as a kid.
When he first started his recent comeback i supported him but with each interview he became more and more ******ed and truly RACIST and disrespectful.

If any of the Euro heavy's said the kind of **** he did they would be labeled as racist.

I like Toney but im verry disapointed about his last years, cheated 2 times and got cought with it and always came out of shape. But i still respect him as a fighter, when he fought at the lower weights he was a great boxer and verry good for the sport. I still respect this man. And when hes "talking" on press conferences and after fights, hes just acting and playing the bad thug mutha****er but in real life hes totally different. Hes a good guy. Toney is done but in 20 years his son will write history as a boxdr too. Remeber where you heard it first! Toney will train his own son and he will be the next Toney....maybe. :D

i think toney's biggest strengths at his peak: confidence and pride are hurting him now more than anything cause he talks **** but the results dont come.
