According to the IBA and to a recent interview with Toney himself,
Thompson - Toney is on for December 13.

Difficult matchup for James Toney. Tony Thompson is tall, rangy and a southpaw. He is without doubt a lower top 10 contender and gave an OK performance against Klitschko.

The winner of this fight should be in line for a big fight. If Toney wins, I hope Haye finally steps it up and fights him.

Tough fight for Toney I'm surprised he took it.

Props to the old guy there.

The fight doesn't exactly look like a barn burner.

But Vs is gonna air it so I'll be watching.

Winner is in line for something big.

It will take a great amount of slick boxing skills to defeat today's James Toney. The type of hand, foot speed and ring gneralship that only the likes of Sam Peter have mastered.

Odd fight to get a handle on. Thompson is usually quite a busy fighter, but then that may just give Toney more opportunities to counter.

Depends on what Toney has left. 3 rounds against Rahman is one thing, the 10 against Batchelder and 12 against Peter in the second fight concern me more.

Toney by UD in a what should be a close fight.
It is intresting to see how Toney is going to fight such a tall opponent.

Winner should face one of the champs.

I also have a feeling Toney backs out of this one. Just like he backed out against McCline. I think Toney knows that really tall guys are not a good idea.

That JT owned so bad, the last time out on FOX that Hasim legally changed his last name to "Toney"

Yeah, seeing as how poorly he fared against Hasim, Evander and Ruiz and all.
