I just watched some of his early fights man that boy when he was focused was the total package. I think he defo in my top 5 of the most skilled fighters of all time. His punches are so crisp and accurate. His skill level is better was better than floyds

That's understandable. He just tainted his history with a crappy performance against Roy Jones from too much partying...

But he's definitely one of the great fighters of the last 30 years...

His performance was crappy because his opponent was Roy Jones. How about that for a reality check?

Toney has a eating disorder. The Tiberi fight really should of been a wake up call for him to try and get it under control

When he was focused and disciplined he was a special fighter no doubt. Freddy Roach says he was the most naturally gifted fighter he has ever worked with.

But unfortunately his lack of self discipline saw him often under perform. The Tiberi fight, the loss to Thadzi, the lost years at light heavy where he basically fell off the planet and fought in relative obscurity and lost to Griffin twice. Testing positive for steroids also tarnished his legacy.

At his best he was the best inside fighter in boxing and one of the best counter punchers. Though I think he would always struggle with good movers. Nunn was outboxing him prior to the stoppage and Jones Jr was just too elusive and wasn't there to be countered like most.
