No. Every time someone points out that your total contribution to the forum consists mainly of negative comments about ONE boxer (By and large, childish and name-calling posts at that, something like you might expect from a thirteen year old), it doesn't mean you've hit a nerve. You don't 'see' much of anything, lad. Can you come up with a single post of mine (or Sean's, for that matter) that indicates fanboy ? This is completely true. I would estimate that 50 -75 % of all posters know nothing, or next to nothing about the subject. Most of them don't stay on very long. However, while there are without doubt some who exaggerate the merits of some big-name boxers and go over the top, there are even more, at least in Calzaghe's case, who post negative drivel, usually punctuated by attempts at cleverness with his name (Calslappy, Calfaggy, etc.). They toss around terms like bum and fraud etc. Now you can say he's under-rated, you can say he's about right, or you can say he's over-rated, but the term bun is not applicable here. So your point about unknowledgeable posters, while true, cuts both directions. I can't deny the truth of that point either. Every now and again, you get that kind of thing. (i have, in the past, fallen victim to some of this. When I was new to the forum, some joker had a thread extolling the virtues of John Ruiz. I countered a few of his posts, only to discover he was just having a bit of fun.) I'm not certain what you mean here. Every time someone responds negatively to one of your posts, it doesn't necessarily indicate that it 'bothers them so much.' Fanboys can be irritating (Floyd's, Oscar's, Pac's whoever's) but haters bug me even more. There are only two boxers I don't like, and it would be a huge stretch to say I hate either of them. Floyd is one of them, and his fanboys are a bit over the top at times, but I recognize him as the current best boxer on the planet and i have no time for the haters who post **** about Fraud Gayweather or other equally foolish plays on his name. I understand fandom, even if it's overdone, but I just don't get the haters. Obviously, and vive la diference ! None whatsoever. As I've mentioned already, it's the nature and volume of your posts. And while some of them have substance, the majority I looked at had 'hater' written all over them. In the line above, you use 'Slappy'. Ask Lacy or Kessler about those slaps. I could equally ask you, what difference does it make to you that I am a Calzaghe fan ? Both silly questions. Really? And you listed logic as one of your interests ? My posting one post about you (plus one response to Pacfan) out of four and a half thousand posts, equates to you posting sixty posts out of eighty-three on Calzaghe ? You're setting the obsession benchmark a little low, lad ! I found it amusing that after two days, you were speaking about the forum like an old-timer. It reminded me of an old Monty Python skit with exactly the same theme, and John Cleese exclaiming: " Three days ? Three bleedin' days 'e's been here, an he finks he knows the insurance business, then " Already explained. It's worse, lad. I'm actually his mother. **** it, why don't I come completely clean. The truth is, I am Joe Calzaghe ! (Don't tell anyone else.)
Ha ha, hey mate, if you don't know what p4p means, and you clearly do NOT, then **** you if you think I'll explain it to you. Go read and learn yourself. More people than just me saw you clearly state: p4p = h2h And nothing you now say can change that. You are a boxing fan, you come onto a boxing forum, you are rude and dismissive of my opinions and the opinions of other posters, and you don't even know what p4p or h2h mean. You sir, are a sad fanny. :hi:
H2H Joe Calzaghe is a very very good fighter. I would take only RJJ and Toney to beat him at 168, of everyone who has ever fought there. I think h2h Hopkins definitely beats Calzaghe at any weight though, but that's no slight on Joe. At LHW, I can only think of RJJ who would definitely beat him without going all the way back to Michael Spinks in the 1980s. Maybe Michael Moorer would have beaten him at LHW, but I wouldn't bet on it.
