can you name one other fight in Haye's fight career where he ahs run and pot-shot apart from Valuev? I bet you cant. Toneys gut is ripe for the body shot.

I dont understand why James Toney thinks nationality is relevant in this specific issue, and why he would go out of his way to disrespect not only David Haye.. but an entire nation.

Now, I know a lot of people will not take great offense to this because James Toney is a brute, he's as smart as a box of nuts when speaking his mind on matters like this, so I suppose he can get away with it.

At the end of the day, David Haye can fill football stadiums, and Toney can do what exactly? Can he even fill a burger king joint with his entourage anymore?

Oh don't worry about James "the buffet king" Toney, he has accomplished NOTHING in the heavyweight division but beat opponents verbally while others are unifying and making serious money.

James Burger King Toney is nothing but a clown in the division and has been nothing but a clown since getting in the heavyweight division. His best win remains a win over ancient Holyfield.

Toney will talk trash and once he gains their attention he will be the first to run away to the Buffet house claiming they called him out when he was semi pregnant with triple cheese burgers.

No one should pay attention to what this worthless clown says, I would say he should pick up commentating but who will understand?

Toney has a point. I like Haye and everything, but i'd like to see him doing his usual crap to someone like Toney in the press conferences.

He was safe to do it to the Kilts or Valuev because he knew they would be reluctant to do anything back - they tend to treat their opponents with the upmost respect before getting in the ring.

How would he go against someone like Toney?

You're right, I can't. I still believe Haye would not take risks even with an old faded Toney. Haye may be fast, but Toney could still counter him at will on the inside. Toney has never been bothered by body shots.

Why should he bother with a guy that can't fill a bus with people?

He's got mandatories and the Klitschko's to think about. Nevermind the fat old guy who likes to talk.

"I am the IBA Heayweight Champion of the World" "I make the Title the title don't make me"

A few people have joked about that statement. But, I think it is one of the most interesting statements he made. Why? Well not necessarily pertaining to Toney but I have also thought and even posted on here before that the fight is more important than the titles. I know the WBA/IBF/WBC/WBO Titles are the most important titles in terms of prestige but take for example

    Fight one
IBF Welterweight Title-Sugar Shane Mosley vs. Delvin Rodriguez

    Fight two
Vacant IBA Welterweight Title-Manny Pacquio vs. Floyd Mayweather.

Now tell me which on of those two fights is the bigger fight the one for the IBF Title or the one for the IBA title.

In the end, this is another disappointing interview for us Toney fans.
Yeah he told it like it is with Haye and the state of the HW division and all, but any honest boxing fan knows that already. Toney is just the only active boxer to have the balls and talk so openly about it in the medias.
But there were no concrete news about an upcoming fight or opponent, only the same stories about him going down to 185lbs to face B-Hop and stuff - we know that won't happen. And then him being the IBA HW champion and so on - as big as a Toney fan as I am, he isn't a HW champ. Let alone holding a relevant belt. Even the WBA belt is still much more worth than the IBA strap.
About him claiming to **** on the UK flag or crucyfing Holyfield, well I coudn't care less about the UK but such talk is classless, and it ain't funny either. It's also irritating, because in real life, outside the medias and the boxing circus, Toney is a very friendly, down to earth guy who's treating people with respect. He holds a lot of respect for Holyfield and showed that after their fight. He even calls Wladimir Klitschko 'champ' face to face.

In the ring, Toney has been a favorite of mine TO WATCH. But as a person, I think he's utterly classless. ATG/future HOF though.

I actually agree that Toneys talent was never matched by his achievements. He's an underachiever, but he's still had a great career, and he's an ATG. Nobody can take that away from him. Name other fighters who had 80+ pro fights in 5 weight divisions, against a who is who in every division (except for the Klits in the HW division), and have never been stopped or been close to being stopped?

David Haye was the CW champ and now holds a belt at HW, that's respectable, but at the same time the CWs and HWs he beat for these belts were decent but not great. Haye has a loooooong way to go before he even comes close to Toneys achievements.

I was referring to Arrans post, about how a hypothetical fight between Toney and Haye would play out.

But since we're at it now: Haye will face his mandatory Ruiz, and nobody can blame him for that. Toney doesn't blame him either. After that (provided he beats Ruiz) he will probably face Holyfield or Chagaev, or a rematch with Valuev. Not really something to get excited about. I'm sure most boxing fans would rather see Haye-Toney.
Haye thought about the Klitschkos this summer and decided not to fight them after all. He won't think about them anytime soon now (but he'll still talk about them).

Not sticking up for Haye, believe me, but Toney is a fat relic,no disrespect, fantastic fighter in his day but if that fight happens i can`t see Haye being boring against him as against Valuev.Haye should fight him,be a good fight.
