    I think Hopkins lateral movement would be the difference maker in this fight snd he wins a close decision.

    Which Toney shows up? Anything less than a 100% motivated Toney and Hopkins wins.

    The issue that i have with picking Hopkins is his lack of competition. Hopkins never beat anyone as good as the Nunn that Toney beat at 160.

    Although i rank Hopkins in my all time top 5 middleweights, i am not as sold on him h2h.

    IMO Toney has better offensive skills, and if he shows up motivated, he can outwork and outfight Hopkins on the inside. Hopkins wasn't exactly as fleetfooted as Ali or Robinson or someone of that caliber. I think Toney will close the distance and IMO Toney has better in fighting skills.

    Put it as you wish, you've been running Toney down ceaselessly up to and including pretending he "pointed a gun at his manager", as if that has any relevance to his beating Golovkin (which the forum overwhelmingly believes he would, surprisingly).

    You can't be surprised if in the middle of another thread where you're busy ripping into Toney and immediately open another one giving you the opportunity to rip into Toney it looks suspect and a little ridiculous.

    I mean, I presume you've picked Hopkins here? Involved in a huge argument lasting weeks in another thread, you haven't opened up this thread in order to pick and praise Toney, have you?

    Anyone who watches both fighters at their peak, when their peaks actually happened know Toney was a better fighter

    Toney really is one of the most overrated fighters ever. Despite being arguably the most durable.

    This is a hard fight to call. If you put Toney against Hopkins in the early 90's around the time Hopkins fought Roy Jones when these two could've actually fought I'd take Toney to win at that time. Hopkins later in his career learned how to steal fights and if he fought Toney with that style it would be interesting to see. I could see an older Hopkins making it a dull fight and stealing rounds from Toney with his short flurries and holding rough house tactics to a decision. Toney who was a great inside fighter may be crafty enough to battle a prime Hopkins while he tries to emplore these tactics and win rounds himself. Ultimately this is a fight that should've happened at some point and is very imagine how these two styles would clash at different points in their careers.

    I think he was suspect in close victory, drawing and defeat relative to his standings in the eyes of some here.

    We already when over Toney treating to kill his manager with the gun according the police, why bring that up again?

    I think if they fought in the early 90s when Toney was fighting mw that I like Toney to win a decision. I think Bernard got even better with age but I also think Toney fought a much more eye-pleasing style for judges and that Toney's craftmanship would encourage Bernard to play it safe and take too many rounds off. Toney by SD.

    He didn't try to kill his manager with a gun, and that link doesn't say he did. It's a fantasy you've generated in order to run down Toney personally and is a fine example of how far you are willing to go to personally denigrate fighters who are picked over your favourites.

    No praise like self praise, eh? Is it, really though? I mean it's just another h2h that's been run a dozen times on the forum. I googled and got two exactly like it. At least those were started for honest reasons though.
