I've watched plenty Toney fights I'm just saying at light heavy he wasn't exactly mind blowing so why is it seen as so hard as picking Artur to win, are toneys win at light heavy anymore impressive?
I can see that. Sorry man - the wording spoiler caused me to make a mental connection from James Toney to someone like Sergio Mora or John Ruiz and I was thinking nah man Toney kept things a bit fresher than that.
I fancy Beterbiev outworking him for the win. Yeah I know Toney defence bla bla bla but at some point he's got to stop shucking around and do some damage. Artur can throw at a high pace for the entire fight. I think Toney might survive but I don't think he wins.
Toney fights to the level of his competition, and the only time he didn't was against RJJ. Toney would rise up to the challenge against B, and put on a counterpunching performance similar to what he did against Iran.
I loved Toney and was sad to see him blow his amazing talent with his lack of discipline. Beterbiev isn’t nearly as talented as Toney but what he lacks in talent he makes up for in work ethic and discipline. Plus Toney was a blown up middleweight and not a true LH or HW. He only fought in the higher classes because he ate himself out of the lower weight divisions. AB loses rounds but puts a beating on Toney to win a decision or late KO. Beterbiev isn’t pretty but he’s a better fighter than people around here give him credit for being
