That's exactly what he does. He loves it. He loves using stats. He loves finding little loop holes. If we compare their first 26 fights, then yes, Billy comes out on top. He's fought higher level opponents. Let him enjoy his little victory. Seeing as though he's done a comparison based on the total number of fights that Billy's had to date, let's see if he's also willing to do a comparison based on Billy's current age.
The only reason I do is because Lemieux held a version of the ABC titles so I rank him slightly more accomplished than Eubank and Lee, even though you can argue that both Eubank and Lee have a similar possibly slightly better resume than DL.
Fair enough. By going on the eye test, I think that Eubank and Lee are better fighters. I like Lemieux, he's got an exciting style and great power. He has the eye catching knockouts like against Stevens. But I think the other 2 have more ability. And like you've already noted, that title he won was from 'a vacant title' fight.
Agree, DL is overrated by many. People fall in love with punchers, so I get it, people root for him because who doesn't love KO artists. Don't take me wrong, I've been a real DL fan since the first time I saw him in his losing but exciting effort against Alcine in 2010, but he is a very limited fighter as has been proven 4 times. In all honesty I don't know much about CEJ or Lee except for their fights against Saunders and JCCjr so I can't comment much about their skill set.
The fight with Billy came too early for Eubank. He was convinced that he'd take him out. He was too arrogant and underprepared. He's a lot more mature now. I'd love to see a rematch. From what I've seen so far, based purely on ability, both Eubank and Lee rank above Lemieux.
There are many that talk about James Toney at his lower weights like he was unbeatable. “Everybody and their momma knows” Lol Dumbass. Good job on being oblivious to what I was referring to yet again. What’s next? Gonna tell us how everybody “and their momma” knows abusing drugs is bad for ya? But oddly enough there are billions that still do it. Quit being a smarmy little dip****
I was PMd in June 2013 with a conversation titled "A Career in law ", sent by a very good poster. Very nice PM to receive A career in law? Hi Bailey, Just a note to thank you for that superb review and critique of the evidence placed in front of you. I would be lying if I said I was surprised but it can still be impressive watching a skilled fighter mercifully school a loudmouth neverwillbe. I think Oscar Pistorious could do worse than retain your services. And that thread is now the equivalent of the 1981 Grand National, which I'm sure you know if but I will not divulge as you will get a pleasant surprise if it's slipped your memory.:good And it's a shame the forum is dying mate.I urge you to try and inject if not a kiss of life, then at least a better quality of time left Cheers.
I am an official card carrying fanboy of BJS 2.0 (RIP BJS-1) but lets get real here, it was only David F Lemieux. Toney completely and utterly bums him!
Even beyond that, after Nunn (who I hold in extremely high regard), he immediately went in with Reggie Johnson then Mike Mccallum back to back. Again, Nunn-Johnson-Mccallum, back to back to back. That's downright unbelievable. No MW since Toney has took on that type of competition let alone back to back.
You cant argue the 26 fight scenario. even Loudon who doesnt like me called it a victory. Its a different era and you are once again taking finished careers and comparing it to an active career. You agree after Nunn, Toney fought R Johnson. I agree it became a good win, but at that time who had R Johnson beaten? You are basing it off the fact of what Johnson went on to achieve. At the time they fought Johnson hadnt beaten anyone of note and wasnt the 2 weight champ he became entering the ring. Its like saying look at how Saunders beat Eubank Jnr. Eubank Jnr may go on to beat Groves next and become a SMW champ, or he may not. They are active careers and this is where you are going wrong in trying to compare a finished career to an early active career. So we go back to looking at the first 26 fights and Saunders has fought at a higher level. Even if Saunders doesnt face anyone of note in fight 27, his overall resume would still be greater at this time. That no one of note may go on to become a champ. We wont know till the end of the career.
Think people forget that at this time Saunders is operating at a far higher level than Toney. ------------------ Saunders -------------------------------------------- Toney Fight #15 undefeated 12-0 Fletcher ---------------------------- 6-16-0 record fighter Fight #18 undefeated 16-0 O'Sullivan -------------------------- 1-0-0 record fighter Fight #19 undefeated 15-0 Ryder ------------------------------- 10-1-0 record fighter Fight #20 undefeated 22-0 Blandamura ------------------------ 15-11-0 record fighter Fight #21 undefeated 18-0 Eubank Jnr ------------------------- Draws with S Williams 24-11-0 Fight #23 A Lee world champ 34-2-1 --------------------------- S Williams 24-12-1 Fight #26 D Lemieux (defending away) ------------------------- 25-7-2 record fighter You get the idea. All these fanboys try and tell a different story but lets look at facts. Saunders clear UD
You do realise that R Johnson wasnt the 2 weight champ he became at the time of that fight dont you? I think it was a good win, but more so in hindsight rather than at the time. Who had Johnson beaten at that time?
