Foster is a terrible matchup for Toney. Bob could control him from the outside with that long, wicked jab, and if Toney tried to get inside he'd be at risk for the Foster hook. Foster by UD is my pick, but if ANYBODY can stop James Toney.... its Foster. Either way... I dont see how Toney beats Foster. And James is one of my all time fav fighters.
James was good at 175 but Foster was great. James wouldn't be able to reach Foster effectively and he would be knocked out. Rare that James get's knocked out.
I've been a fan of Toney since the early 90's. I used to think he was underrated around here a few years back, but that's not the case anymore. This is just a terrible style match-up for Toney. I think a 175 lb. Tommy Hearns is trouble for James. I can't see Toney being competitive with Foster at 190.
Foster won't ko Toney but he will find him with the jab often enough to eke out a dec.Runners bothered Foster, but Toney is no runner, his marvellous shoulder rolls ,and dips will save him from a lot of punishment but he wont land much himself.
