James Toney vs Carl Froch

He didn't dish out life - altering beatings to Tiberi or Thadzi, two fighters Froch would beat clearly. Just because Toney isn amazingly gifted doesn't change the fact that he had many lazy fights in his career and that his SMW resume wasn't impressive. Froch will never look smooth in the ring, but unlike Toney he always performs at the limits of his ability.

50:50 fight to me.

 

people are underestimating froches chin!! that guy really takes a good shoot an i doubt tony would knock him out but the old tony would get the decision

 

When you have 80 fights you are bound to have couple of off nights.

But world title fight agains Froch wouldnt be one of them

 

Froch is no mug he is rolling along nicely and is heading for a better legacy than Joe.C, out of all the current fighters Froch has definatly made me a fan, through his gritty performances I mean the man only fights the best out there and if he keeps getting the wins in three fights time he will have a quality record but James Toney would get the decision i would of thought, but the man was using PEDS so he definatly tarnished himself there.

I like both guys but Toney is in a different class. Toney would either stop Froch late or take a comfortable decision.

 

Silencer is a dumbass.

I like Froch, but Toney may be the worse matchup for him stylistically. Froch's best bet would be to make Toney come to him, and try to dictate the fight at a distance with his jab.

Froch just doesn't have the handspeed or footwork though to keep Toney from scoring.

 

Gah, I'm checking out of this thread. Unreal, the number of people who think Froch can hang with Toney. I have nothing but respect for Froch as a person but jesus, this is Froch vs. Toney..
