Anybody see this fight? I couldn't believe how fat Toney was. I don't have the actual weights but I'd say it was a career high for Toney. Even though there was a flash of brilliance here & there, Toney seems to have cement boots on & his punches were so slow that they looked like they were thrown underwater. Still, James had more than enough to pitch a shutout vs. a clearly over matched opponent in Reed. Of course Toney called out the Klitschko "sisters" and David "Gaye" and well as "Christina" Arreola...............:rofl In my opinion Toney should have to fight and beat convincingly a top 10 Heavyweight before he gets anywhere near the fighters he was calling out. As a Toney fan, I would rather he retire with his reputation, and his marbles, still somewhat intact. Thoughts?
if he is serious about getting any title holder to face him he would work hard, lose the weight and get a fight to be able to win and get him in the mandatory positions!. all talk and no action from toney, sad to see, bhop is still at top of his game and the older age, why?,cuz he looks after himself and acts like a professional.
That's how I see it too. Toney could possible still be a force just based on his defense, movement & counter punching ability. The extra weight and possibly age has slowed him too much though at this point & I think he'd be brutally KO'd against any big punching Heavyweight if he can't get his weight down & his speed up. .............and yes, I realize his chin is about as solid as you can get, but against a big, fast puncher like Wlad, Haye or even Arreola I think he gets knocked the **** out.
