I think Canelo has enough left, especially when he has a point to prove. But we'll hopefully find out for sure.
Toney W via UD. Toney is bigger, stronger & harder-hitting than Andrade. He also has a much better chin & is a much better inside fighter. Toney counters the very hittable Benavidez all night long to cruise to a comfortable decision.
Toney would pick apart a guy like Benavidez and stop him late. Benavidez is tailor made for a guy like Toney. As the fight progressed, Toney would really start to unload on him with punishing counters. The tougher Benavidez is, the more damage he would sustain. Honestly, this fight could end up being pretty ugly for Benavidez.
Well the win over Barkley at 168 may be Toney's best win at 168 lbs in a fight where I thought Barkley looked awful , Toney's counters had a lot to do with that though, His best wins after that were Charles Williams, Anthony Hembrick and maybe Tim Littles. Fact is while Benavidez still needs a signature win at 168 he'd be the best fighter Toney ever fought at that weight and I think at present it'd be a very close fight.
I agree that Benavidez would be one of the best fighters Toney fought at 168. (Clearly though, Roy Jones was the best person Toney fought at that weight) I just happen to think that a plugging forward attrition fighter like Benavidez plays perfectly into Toney's strengths. Look what Toney did to a prime Jirov. I think Jirov was a bigger, harder punching version of Benavidez.
When I watched Benavides vs Plant, I kind of expected Toney to announce a comeback within a few days. Watching that fight, I thought that Toney would have beaten him pretty easily.
You smoke one untested blown up 154lb'er and now you're ready for the goat? Don't think so. Toney would knock this kid out. Andrade was landing full power shots telegraphed from his hip on Benavidez, Toney would pick him apart.
Faster feet? Yes. That's about it. Toney has superior upper body movement/reflexes and flexibility in his prime.
If your going to create a thread at least spell the name right. Benavidez wins by tko or ko as usual. Toney at super middle has the shoulder roll which would end up with the back of his head being exposed to what i would I call the Mexican Octopus, game over!
